Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, said last Friday that the reason he has not returned to Arsenal for a visit yet since the end of his 21-year reign is because he did not want "make people feel uncomfortable." "It's better to cut completely. And then they have taken new habits and a new way to behave. You can come back and enjoy to watch a game," he added. The 71-year-old said that "continuity" is important at a club and due to Mikel Arteta's history at Arsenal as a player, the Spaniard is able to "know what is requested and know how to behave," as the new head coach. Nicklas Bendtner, the former Arsenal striker, was reported to have said that he did not fulfill his potential during his time with Arsenal, and Wenger agreed. "I think he acknowledges himself that he did not completely go to the end of his potential." During his time in the English Premier League Wenger was asked to become England national team head coach, but repeatedly refused due to the limited game time entailed by a role of the sort. The Frenchman also responded to comments made by Tottenham Hotspur boss, Jose Mourinho, on the reason the Portuguese does not feature in Wenger's autobiography. At a recent Spurs presser Mourinho had said Wenger does not mention him because he never beat him. "It's nothing to do with (Jose) Mourinho or with (Pep) Guardiola or (Jurgen) Klopp. I wanted to talk about people, about my life first and about people who don't work anymore. Like (Sir Alex) Ferguson," said Wenger. "I know we live in a society of entertainment. But entertainment can be better that just always individual differences," added Wenger, refusing to be drawn into further comments on his differences with Mourinho. He criticised the idea of a new European Super League, accusing club owners and investors of solely thinking in monetary terms. "What are investors' first target? It's to make more money and so that the European Super League is one way maybe to make more money," said the Frenchman. "The other leagues tried to destroy the advantage the Premier League has. For them, the best thing to attain that is to create a European league. So that means to destroy the Premier League, basically," added Wenger. In the first part of an interview touching on a wide-range of topics after the publishing of his autobiography, the 71-year-old, urged the current head coach of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, to "find a way to get" Mesut Ozil back into the team as the World Cup winner has been omitted from the English Premier League and UEFA Europa League squad. Wenger also believed that Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, will not move to Real Madrid or Liverpool as is widely rumoured. "It doesn't depend on (Zinedine) Zidane or on (Jurgen) Klopp for Mbappe to be a great player. He's 22 years old. He's world champion. He's won every championship every year.
