Lanes 1 to 5, Left to Right: Harvard, Cornell, Penn, Yale, Navy. Finish Order: Penn 5:43.727, Harvard 5:47.486, Cornell 5:48.614, Navy 5:56.611, Yale 6:20.315. 2014 Eastern Sprints. May 18, 2014, ~3:09 p.m. start, Race 30, Lightweight Freshmen Eight Grand Final, Lake Quinsigamond, Worcester, Massachusetts. Weather: Lovely day. Crossing tail wind, mostly tail, out of the North-North-West, averaging 8.09 mph at the camera site, but probably understated due to obstructions. Partly cloudy. Temps 66.0 F. Camera located on the dining deck of the Buca Di Beppo restaurant on the Shrewsbury side near lane 6.

May 2, 2015, ~10:50 a.m., Schuylkill River, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. www.VisitPhilly.com Dartmouth (far lane, shore side) Penn (center lane) Cornell (near lane) 2015 Madeira Cup Varsity Eight Results: Cornell: 5:35.4 Penn: 5:37.2 Dartmouth: 5:39.5 Four lead changes, but Cornell takes the Madeira Cup by winning the V8+ race. Cornell also won the most lovely Tiffany crafted James Wray Memorial Trophy for team points, both of which were contested by Cornell and Penn. Dartmouth rowed as a guest, and this is the first regular season meeting between Dartmouth and Penn in quite a while. Surprisingly, this is only the ninth Dartmouth and Cornell heavyweight crews as there was a disqualification in a race back in 1953 that caused a 37 year hiatus in rowing between the two schools. Somebody needs to tell that story. Yet another lovely day on the Schuylkill with maybe the best water I've seen. The lightest of tail winds at 0-2mph with temps at ~62F for the V8+ race. June 2, 2012, 07:00 start, Cooper River, Cherry Hill, NJ. Camera location on the Cooper River Yacht Club dock, about 1,400 meters down the course, on the south side of the river. If you look closely, silhouetted on that brown roof, you can see the starting judge wave the flag. Weather: Temp 64 F. Winds out of the West to West North West resulting in tailwinds. For this race, tailwind speeds parallel to the course were measured and ranged from 5.7 to 12.5 mph using a directional anemometer. Average of the readings was 8.1 mph tailwind.
