He played in one game last season. "I think we just meshed really well," Nieves said of his line. "Grabner is a really fast player like me so it's easy to keep up with him, and a guy like Buchnevich can put the puck just everywhere. They made my transition here really easy."

Stamkos and Kucherov are the seventh pair of teammates to begin a season with an 11-game point streak and the first to do it since the 1992-93 season. They also tied Martin St. Louis for the Lightning record for a point streak to begin the season.

Virtanen scored at 10:07 of the third period. He has three points (two goals, one assist) in a three-game point streak. "I think if anyone got that goal, that's a big goal," Virtanen said. "It's a good end to the road trip for us, and we're going to bring that momentum back home."
