WARSAW, Poland. May 16 (PSN) – Legia Warsaw celebrated their league championship with a win in the thirtieth matchweek of the 2020/2021 PKO Ekstraklasa season. The capital club had an easy task for their final match of the season, going up against last place Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala. Meanwhile, it was the exact opposite for the league minnow, who came to Warsaw with the hope of pulling an upset – which would save them off from relegation. While Podbeskidzie did valently put up a fight, they ultimately were no match to the quality of Legia’s squad, who wanted to end their season on a winning note. A goal from Rafael Lopes scored in the 24th minute went on to ensure that Legia ended the match with 3 points in hand. With that result, Podbeskidzie now are going to be relegated from the PKO Ekstraklasa, while Legia have officially been crowned league champions.
