Kansas State's Ayoka Lee has now put herself in a category all her own in the annals of women's college basketball history, as she proved historically unstoppable with a 61-point effort in her school's upset win over Oklahoma. In Kansas State's 94-65 rout of the Sooners, Lee set the NCAA's all-time record for most points scored in a women's basketball game. Lee's record was secured late in the fourth quarter, as a post-layup with three minutes to go broke the previous NCAA record of 60 points that as set back in 1987. The record had been held by Cindy Brown of Long Beach State, and was later tied by Minnesota's Rachel Banham in 2016. "I didn't come in expecting to break a record," Lee said after the game. "I think [it was] just sticking to our game plan, running what we needed to run, and our guards did amazing. "... I'm just so thankful for the people around me, for my teammates and my coaches trusting me. We came out and just took care of business. We still have so much season to play, so I'm just excited to see how the rest of it goes." Lee had been among the top scorers in the country entering Sunday's game, as she had ranked third in Division I with 23.6 points per game. Lee, who turns 22 this year, is currently eligible for the WNBA Draft but is reportedly seeking to return to Kansas State for her senior season and to complete her graduate degree. #AyokaLee #Kstate #MoeDeesBasketball MoeDee's Basketball Social Media website: www.moedeesbasketball.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moedeesbasketball/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moedeesbasketball/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/moedeesbball?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClw1uO8WIvyjmtirDMrz2Zg?view_as=subscriber LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moedeesbasketball/
