Jason Robertson's Hat Trick leads Dallas Stars past Edmonton Oilers in Game 3!
Jason Robertson scores a Hat Trick in game three of the Western Conference Final to lift the Dallas Stars over the Edmonton Oilers by a final score of 5-3. Roope Hintz has two assists in his return to the lineup as Dallas erased a two goal deficit to win their fourth straight road game of the postseason. In this reaction episode of Locked On Stars, Joey breaks down all of game three and the importance of Roope Hintz to the Stars equation. The Oilers dominated the first period, but the Stars stuck with it and scored three goals within a span of the three minutes and twenty two seconds to take the lead. The Dallas Stars fail to close out Colorado in Game 5: Special teams and Stars for Avs extend series
The Colorado Avalanche win game five by a final score of 5-3 to extend the series and their season. The Dallas Stars are Western Conference Champions! | One thing remains: the Stanley Cup!
Jake Oettinger and the Dallas Stars defeat the St. Louis Blues 2-1 in a shootout to win the Western Conference! Jason Robertson scored in the skills competition as the Stars finished with the 2nd most points and wins in franchise history. Mason Marchment scored the game tying goal to force the game to OT and Dallas finished off an incredible season in style. Joey goes into depth about why this Stars team has such a great chance to make a deep postseason run as they await their first opponent. That opponent will be either the Vegas Golden Knights or the Los Angelas Kings. The Stars swept the season series vs the Kings, but we're on the other end of the results against Vegas. Joey would rather play the Kings even though they boast a top 3 defense in terms of goals against this season. Who would you want to play? The final segment ponders the return of defensemen Jani Hakanpaa. Nils Lundkvist played just under six minutes in the finale, so essentially the Stars are playing with five defenders. The Stars need Hakanpaa to be healthy, because playing five defensemen will eventually catch up to Dallas if it continues into the postseason. Coming out of the Christmas break for the National Hockey League, Joey begins today's episode of Locked On Stars discussing the unbelievable win the Dallas Stars had against the Nashville Predators on Saturday. The Stars made history by becoming the first team to score the tying goal and go ahead goal in the final 15 seconds of regulation. Craig Smith and Jani Hakanpaa were the two goal scores along with Evgenii Dadanov to erase a two goal deficit in the 3rd period. The two biggest takeaways for Joey over the last week is tightening up defensively and being able to win from behind. The Stars lead the NHL with 12 come from behind wins this season. We then segway into a conversation about the power play that is 0 for the last 14 opportunities. Dallas has been able to win without it by holding opponents off the scoresheet on the man advantage, but it could make life much easier if they get it rolling again. Joey offers some solutions and why he thinks the power play has slipped over the past week. The show wraps up by praising Scott Wedgewood who has put up a 9-1-2 record in 12 games this season and has been an anchor since Jake Oettinger went down with an injury. He allows the Stars to be in every game and has such a great compete level since switching his mindset to being a number one goalie instead of a backup. Miro Heiskanen's BIG Night Leads Dallas Stars Over the Red Wings!
Miro Heiskanen has a three point night including two goals and an assist as the Dallas Stars take down the Detroit Red Wings 6-3. Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson and Matt Duchene all had goals in the game and it was great that the Stars best players had good games. Jake Oettinger also had a solid night make 27 saves and picking up his 11th win of the season. Overall, it was a much better effort from the entire club than we had seen in the previous two weeks. Sam Steel continue his good stretch of play with two more assists in the game, helping the fourth line contribute offensively. The story of the night though, is the offensive display from Stars defense men who combined for seven points. Esa Lindell with a goal and an assist, Jani Hakanpaa had a assist and Joel Hanley got his first point of the season which is hopefully signs to come for a group that ranks one of the worst in point percentages in the NHL. More importantly, this win leads to a much needed two day break for the Stars after a very busy stretch of hockey against very good teams. The Dallas Stars come from two goals down to defeat the New York Rangers 6-3 last night. Roope Hintz has a big three point night followed by Mason Marchment and Joe Pavelski who had multi point nights as well. After surrendering the first two goals, Scott Wedgwood shut down the Rangers as he mad 30 saves in the win and the Stars offense found its rhythm against a stingy defense and goalie in Igor Shesterkin. After losing on Saturday in a disappointing way, it was good to see Dallas step up against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. We found out during warm ups, the lines had been changed. Jason Robertson and Jamie Benn flipped flopped and both added a different dynamic to their new trios.
