Yankees vs Twins | Highlights | 7/9/25

THE YANKEES WIN!! The Yankees win this one 10-7 over the Twins and take 2/3 from them. J.A. Happ started the game and had a rough outing. That seems to be the theme for Yankees pitching the last four days. Happ allowed six runs in 3.1 innings and walked two. Nestor Cortes Jr. followed that with 3.1 innings. He allowed a run. Tommy Kahnle got the final two outs of the seventh and then tossed a 1-2-3 eighth. Aroldis Chapman looked better than he did last night. He tossed a scoreless ninth. After falling behind 2-0 in the first, the Yankees put a four-spot on the board in the second. Didi Gregorius got the Yanks on the board with an RBI double to center. Later in the inning, Mike Tauchman put the Yankees ahead with a two-run triple to right. Austin Romine drove in the fourth run of the inning with a sac-fly to right. Aaron Hicks crushed a solo home run to right in the third. That was his 12th of the season. Later in the third, Gleyber Torres put one over the left field wall. That was his 20th of the season. The Yankees added three-more runs in the fourth. Aaron Hicks had a line drive RBI single to right. Then, Didi Gregorius lined a two-run triple to center. Edwin Encarnacíon blasted his 30th home run of the season with a solo shot to left-center in the ninth. Every Yankee in the starting lineup had at least a hit. Judge, Hicks, E ncarnacíon and Tauchman each had two hits. Didi had three hits. The Yankees will head to Boston to begin a four-game series with the Red Sox tomorrow night.
