So 11 games in, Lakers fans (and Lakers coaches, Lakers players and Lakers management) are learning a lot about what it means to be a team featuring Russell Westbrook. The extremes are striking, particularly now while he's not playing particularly well in the aggregate. Is it something people were totally prepared for? How is it impacting the way the Lakers play? And perhaps most importantly, when it's all said and done, how does Westbrook's presence impact the effectiveness of LeBron James and Anthony Davis as a pairing? Because for the last two seasons, there has been an assumption that the combination of Davis and James, if healthy and playing at their top level, automatically makes the Lakers strong title contenders, almost independent of what surrounds them. Given LeBron's new struggles with health, is that still true? And critically, does the addition of Westbrook enhance that partnership? Does it detract? We're a long ways away from finding out, but the answer will be critical to the team's success. Finally, it's awfully early to declare anyone the winner of a season-long award... unless you're talking about Sixth Man of the Year, because if Carmelo Anthony does anything kinda like what he's done for the first 11 games over the final 71, it's a wrap. Because nobody is taking that trophy from him - the story is just too good. And to wrap things up... It's the Morris Twins vs. the Jokic Brothers. Choose your fighters. HOSTS; Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Westbrook Experience. What's it been like to watch? What impact does it have on his teammates, and the process of learning to play with him? SEGMENT 2: Is LeBron and AD still enough? Where are the Lakers set to improve around them? SEGMENT 3: Carmelo as the (very) early frontrunner for 6MOY. And the Jokic Brothers go after the Morris Twins following Monday's dustup during the Nuggets/Heat game. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
