Attacking Finale On The Opening Day | Tour De Suisse 2022 Men's Stage 1 Highlights
This year, for the first time since 2008, the Tour de Suisse has done away with the traditional opening-day time trial, instead kicking off the race with four laps of a 44.4km circuit around Küsnacht. With two climbs on each lap, expect a punchy and aggressive start to the final warm-up race before the Tour de France. Another short stage lies in wait on the final day of this year’s race and just like yesterday it’s packed with gruelling climbs. The race is set for a dramatic close on the hors categorie ascent of Plateau de Solaison (11.3km at 9%). With gradients that seldom dip below double-digits, this is an ascent for the pure climbers and we’re in for some final-day fireworks. GC Race Ignites In The Alps | Critérium Du Dauphiné 2022 Stage 7 Highlights
The shortest road stage of this year’s race, but - without a doubt - the hardest and therefore deserving of its ‘Queen stage’ status. Climbing starts in earnest on the Col du Galibier (20.7km at 5.2%), before the Col de la Croix de Fer (28.5km at 5.1%), then finally the steep slog up to Vaujany, where not only stage honours, but possibly the yellow jersey too will be decided. Can Breakaway Survive In Tense Finale? | Critérium Du Dauphiné 2022 Stage 5 Highlights
While it features the least climbing of any stage at this year’s race, just 2,200m, stage 5 is far from straightforward with two categorised climbs in the last 25km threatening to cause havoc. Keeping the bunch together over these two late climbs will be tough, which means that we could see some splits and a small group of riders go on to contest the finish in Chaintré. This 32km-long race against the clock that should set the race for the yellow jersey alight and flip the GC on its head. It’s the longest individual time trial seen at the race since 2013 and while it isn’t quite as hilly as those tests that have featured in more recent editions, it will still create some big gaps between the top favourites.
