2000 Premier League goals | Saka, Bergkamp, Henry, Wright & more!

Watch every single landmark goal for Arsenal in the Premier League era. All the way from Bould to Bukayo... Bukayo Saka's goal to beat Aston Villa on Saturday was the 2,000th we have scored in Premier League history. Now into the 30th season of the competition, the landmark goal came up nearly 30 years after our very first – netted by Steve Bould against Norwich City at Highbury on August 15, 1992. We are the third team to rack up 2,000 PL goals, after Manchester United and Liverpool - however we actually needed fewer games than Liverpool to reach the milestone. Saka's goal came in our 1,142nd game, meaning we are the second fastest team to get there, at a rate of 1.75 goals per game. During the same period we have conceded 1,131, for an overall goal difference of +869 (which is the second best, after Manchester United). Saka is one of 132 different players to score for us in the Premier League (not including own goals) - and leading the way is Thierry Henry with 175. Among the 2,000 goals were 40 Premier League hat-tricks (Kevin Campbell scored the first) and our biggest win is 7-0 - recorded twice (against Everton in May 2005 and Middlesbrough in January 2006). Our highest scoring season in Premier League history is 87 in 2004/05, and we are the only side to score at least once in every single game in a campaign (2001/02). We also hold the record for most consecutive top-flight games scored in. We netted in 55 games in a row between May 19, 2001 and November 30, 2002. That run included one our three Premier League title-winning campaigns so far - all achieved under Arsène Wenger - and more than 75 per cent (1,561) of the 2,000 goals came while the Frenchman was in charge. #saka #arsenal #premierleague Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. HIGHLIGHTS | Aston Villa vs Arsenal (0-1) | Premier League | SAKA STRIKES!

Bukayo Saka's first half goal was enough to give us all three points at Villa Park and strengthen our hold on fourth place. It was a very professional performance from start to finish, restricting Villa to just one shot on target - which was in fact the last kick of the game. We started the game very strongly too, playing mostly in the Villa half, and creating a few early chances. Bukayo Saka was coming out on top of his duel with Ashley Young, and his cross in the first ten minutes was nearly turned in for an own goal by Ezri Konsa, but former Gunner Emiliano Martinez got down to make the save. Emile Smith Rowe, back in the side for Gabriel Martinelli who's suffering with illness, shot over from the edge of the area from Martin Odegaard's pass. But just before the half hour we scored the goal that our start merited. A quick free kick on the right was played to Cedric. His deep cross was cleared to the edge of the area, where Saka smashed the ball back through a crowded area and beyond Martinez. It was the 2,000th goal Arsenal have scored in Premier League history, and Saka's 10th in all competitions this season. Saka was on the receiving end of a late Tyrone Mings challenge shortly afterwards, and the Villa captain was perhaps lucky to stay on the pitch. Bernd Leno, in for the injured Aaron Ramsdale didn't have a shot to save in the first half, on his first Premier League appearance since August. In fact there was an hour on the clock before the hosts had a shot of any type - John McGinn curled one just wide from 20 yards. There were signs though, that Villa were growing into the game slowly. Douglas Luiz fired a free-kick over the bar and Ollie Watkins hit the base of the post with a deflected shot. Arsenal meanwhile, were looking to take the sting out of the game and keep possession in midfield. One such passage of possession play led to a chance for Lacazette on the edge of the area, but his shot was blocked. Danny Ings, on as a late substitute, looped a header over late on as Villa piled on more pressure. Coutinho had a free-kick deep into injury time pushed away by Leno, and the visiting fans could celebrate at the final whistle. #arsenal #saka #leno Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. HIGHLIGHTS | Watford vs Arsenal (2-3) | Premier League | Saka, Gabi & Odegaard!
HIGHLIGHTS | Watford vs Arsenal (2-3) | Premier League | Saka, Gabi & Odegaard!

We moved into the top four with a hard-fought win at Watford on Sunday in a rollercoaster of a game at Vicarage Road. After the drama of our last Premier League clash some 10 days earlier against Wolves, Mikel Arteta would have been after a more serene affair this time around. But his heart would have been in his mouth when, 19 seconds into the match, Emmanuel Dennis raced behind our defence and beat Aaron Ramsdale to seemingly open the scoring. The assistant referee’s flag spared us from an early concession though. But a blockbuster opening to the match saw us take the lead minutes later as a slick move up the right saw the superb Martin Odegaard flick the ball to Bukayo Saka. Our England international raced up the right and picked out Odegaard, who took a touch before finding the far corner for his fifth goal of the campaign. But our lead did not last long as the Hornets stung us with a sharp move up the right, with Kiko Femenia crossing for Cucho Hernandez to send a brilliant overhead kick past Ramsdale – and this time it did count. We weren’t at our very best in the first half, but regained the lead when fine work by Saka to steal the ball in front of the Watford box saw his then find Alex Lacazette in the area. The captain did what he does best, holding off Craig Cathcart before playing it back to Saka to curl the ball high into the roof of the net. We couldn’t add to our lead before the interval, but after half time we opened up a two goal advantage in clinical circumstances. Credit to Saka, who took a quick throw to release Cedric up the right and he found Lacazette on the edge of the area, he then laid it off to Gabriel Martinelli and the Brazilian found the top corner with a fine first-time effort. The game still had plenty of life still in it, and the hosts soon had a penalty shout waved away, with Moussa Sissoko and Tom Cleverley in quick succession. Lacazette then had an opportunity to extend our lead after good work from Odegaard but fired wide, while Ben White skewed a volley wide when well placed. Dennis had a big chance to pull one back for Watford in the closing stages but scuffed his shot with the goal gaping. We kept pushing to kill off the game, and Eddie Nketiah – on for a matter of moments – nearly did just that but hit the post after a rapid counter attack. But Roy Hodgson’s side added another twist when Sissoko forced the ball home from a tight angle, setting up a grandstand finish. But despite a tense finale, we held on for the three points in another vital victory in the hunt for a top-four finish. #arsenal #saka #martinelli Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Wolves (2-1) | Pepe and Lacazette in the 95th minute!
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Wolves (2-1) | Pepe and Lacazette in the 95th minute!

Arsenal completed a dramatic late comeback to earn three points in a frantic encounter with in-form Wolves. Despite raining the shots in throughout the 90 minutes, Hwang Hee-Chan's first-half strike had looked to be decisive for a resolute Wolves side - until our late turnaround. With 10 minutes remaining Substitute Nicolas Pepe spun and finished well inside the box to draw us level. But more drama was to follow. As the game entered injury-time, added on due to Wolves' time-wasting, captain Alexandre Lacazette fired in off the keeper at the near post to send the Emirates crowd into raptures. It felt like a big moment in the race for European qualification. It was a lively start that set the tone for the whole match. Gabriel Martinelli went down in the area inside the first two minutes, but it was a fair challenge, before Romain Saiss had the ball in the net for the visitors, only to be flagged offside. Within a few minutes though Wolves did have one that counted. Gabriel - who scored the only goal of the game two weeks ago at Molineux – was the villain this time. His backpass went straight to Hwang, and the South Korean scored from a tight angle. Raul Jimenez had a great chance to double the lead shortly afterwards after being set up by the influential Daniel Podence, but rolled his shot just wide. The Gunners needed to respond. Alexandre Lacazette fired into the side netting from close range before Martin Odegaard had shot blocked inside the area after superb work from Bukayo Saka. Saka himself had the next attempt, but his shot was well charged down after he beat the offside trap. Lacazette had a shot from long distance easily saved, then pulled one back for Gabriel Martinelli to stab over. It was all Arsenal, but the well organised Wolves defence were standing firm. The first chance of the second half fell to Wolves. Hwang sprinted through, threaded his shot through the legs of Aaron Ramsdale, but mercifully past the upright. Saka had a couple of shots blocked, but the congested Wolves penalty area was proving difficult to breach. Lacazette was the next to try his luck, but rather snatched at his shot on the turn. His next effort was better, but this time Jose Sa parried it away for a corner as we kept up the pressure going into the final 20 minutes. Then finally, with our 23rd shot of the evening, Pepe spun and fired home from Eddie Nketiah's cutback. It was no more than we deserved, and finally we had just under ten minutes to find a winner. Odegaard's shot over and Saka had a low shot saved and that looked to be that. But Lacazette had other ideas, and after firing a powerful effort at Sa, the ball was diverted home for a precious late winner. #arsenal #lacazette #nicolaspepe Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more.
