Why Haas has given up on F1 2021 already
Haas didn't develop its 2020 F1 car at all last year, and it is set for another year of the same this season. All we've seen so far is a new livery, and when the real VF-21 emerges at pre-season testing, it will have some new parts on it compared to last year, but nothing significant. And as this video explains, there are other clear signs from the team that 2021 is not at the forefront of the team's ambitions to recover from its slump of the last couple of years. How Aston Martin has taken its ‘Green Mercedes’ to the next level for F1 2021
Aston Martin’s launch of its AMR21 was the most eagerly anticipated of pre-season, and the reveal didn’t disappoint. Unlike so many other teams, what used to be Racing Point showed off plenty of detail and genuine new parts. While the team claims the car is “100% Aston Martin” rather than just another copy of Mercedes, there are several clear examples of how it has continued to follow the lead of the best team on the grid, and it has also inherited one of the key performance gains the world champion team made last year. Will Alpine's 2021 F1 car justify Alonso's faith?
Fernando Alonso's decision to come back to F1 after two years away wasn't about securing instant success with the rebranded Alpine team in 2021. But Alonso will be watching as closely as anyone to make sure that this rejigged team - with new management, an unexpected senior departure, and a revised technical team that came in too late to influence the 2020 car very much - is heading in the right direction. This year is about setting the groundwork for a real push in 2022, and Alpine needs to prove it is on the right track ahead of the major rules overhaul next year that it hopes will offer it a chance to vault up the order with Alonso on board. Honda's plan to win the 2021 F1 title with a 2022 engine
Honda is pulling out of F1 at the end of this season, but since the decision was taken in the middle of last year it hasn't taken its foot off the pedal.
