Broner vs Garcia FULL FIGHT: July 29, 2017 - PBC on Showtime
Broner vs Garcia FULL FIGHT: July 29, 2017 - PBC on Showtime

💥 FIGHT UPDATE 💥 Four-Time World Champion and must-see attraction Adrien "The Problem" Broner will end his two-year hiatus from boxing when he faces Jovanie Santiago in a 12-round headlining super lightweight bout on Saturday, February 20, on Showtime. FIGHT NIGHT DETAILS 📰: https://pbcham.ps/FightNight-2-20-21 ***************************************************************************** (July 29, 2017) Head tilted slightly downward and eyes focused forward, Mikey Garcia seemingly saw nothing other than the obstacle in front of him: Adrien Broner. Mikey Garcia impressively earned a unanimous decision over Adrien Broner in a 140-pound clash of multi-division world champions on July 29, 2017 on PBC on Showtime. Moving up in weight to face “The Problem,” Garcia remained in constant control of their 140-pound showdown, turning in a dominating performance to earn a unanimous decision before a crowd of 12,084 at Barclays Center. With his victory over Broner, a former four-division world champion, Garcia further elevated his status as one of the world’s best pound-for-pound fighters. Garcia, a three-division world champion and current 135-pound titleholder, landed 244 of 783 total punches (31 percent) to Broner’s 125 of 400 (31 percent. His edge was even more apparent in power punches, with Garcia connecting on 152 of 328 (46 percent) and Broner landing 72 of 161 (45 percent). The 29-year-old Southern California native calmly dictated the distance between himself and Broner, and stayed in his opponent’s face for almost the entire fight. After a slow first round that Broner won on all three official scorecards, Garcia went to work as he began to pick apart his opponent. Over the next several rounds, Garcia showed off an impressive arsenal as he used his jab to penetrate Broner’s high guard before slipping shots to the body. By the latter rounds, it was all but apparent that Broner needed a knockout to win, but even then, Garcia was able to counter the Cincinnati native’s desperate attempts. In the end, Garcia easily prevailed by scores of 117-111 and 116-112 twice. Garcia, who earned his 135-pound world title in January with a third-round KO of unbeaten champion Dejan Zlaticanin, said he would weigh his options before considering his next fight. While Garcia has returned to a place among boxing’s elite after returning to the ring a year ago following a contractual dispute that kept him inactive for 30 months, Broner is left to ponder his future after losing for the second time in five fights and for the first time in his career at 140 pounds or less. #BronerGarcia #AdrienBroner #MikeyGarcia Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more info. Thurman vs Porter FULL FIGHT: June 25, 2016 - PBC on Showtime
Thurman vs Porter FULL FIGHT: June 25, 2016 - PBC on Showtime

Prizefighting returned to CBS on Saturday, June 25, 2016, with a Fight of the Year candidate as undefeated welterweight world champion Keith Thurman edged former world champion Shawn Porter in a close but unanimous decision scored 115-113 by all three ringside judges. The 12,718 fans in attendance at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the viewers across the U.S. watching the first primetime boxing event on CBS since Muhammed Ali-Leon Spinks in 1978 were treated to a slugfest between two of the brightest stars in boxing’s glamour division. Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) and Porter (26-2-1, 16 KOs) combined to throw over 1200 punches in the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on CBS event, presented by Premier Boxing Champions. The marquee showdown was a story of accuracy vs. activity, as Thurman landed 50 percent of his power shots, compared to 38 percent for Porter, and 44 percent of his total punches compared to just 36 percent for the challenger. While Thurman landed at a higher percentage, Porter was the busier fighter, throwing over 100 more punches across 12 rounds. “One Time” and “Showtime” delivered as advertised, with the powerful sharpshooter buckling Porter multiple times, while the swarming and smothering Porter barreled forward to bully Thurman into the ropes. And while there were no knockdowns, the back-and-forth blockbuster never lacked action and culminated in a standing ovation in the second-highest attended boxing event in Barclays Center history. "I want to thank Shawn Porter for a tremendous fight. He's a great warrior,” said Thurman. “Defense is the key to victory. He smothers his punches a lot and makes it difficult for the judges to score. I was able to rock him with clear, effective blows and I believe that was the difference today. “I would give him a rematch. It was great fight. He was a great opponent. Everyone was saying would he be my toughest opponent to date. I wasn’t able to drop him but I did buckle him a few times.” The former world champion Porter, a perennial underdog but consummate gentleman, didn’t complain about being on the losing end of his second close decision in a title bout. “We worked hard, Keith is a great champion,” Porter said. “My dad says to keep your head up. I think I won the fight, but I'm satisfied because the competitor came out tonight. "We need that rematch. I know the fans want that rematch. If he gives me another chance, I'm going to work hard in the ring and leave with his title." #ThurmanvsPorter #ShawnPorter #KeithThurman Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for info. Pedraza vs Davis FULL FIGHT: January 14, 2017
Pedraza vs Davis FULL FIGHT: January 14, 2017

On January 14, 2017, Gervonta Davis overpowered 130-pound world champion Jose Pedraza, winning his first title by seventh-round TKO. Gervonta Davis predicted he would knock out 130-pound champion Jose Pedraza, but was noncommittal on when the stoppage would occur, suggesting it could happen in “the eighth, nine or 10th round.” In the end, the 5-foot-6 “Tank” sold himself a little short. After overpowering Pedraza (22-1, 12 KOs) for much of the fight, Davis (17-0, 16 KOs) finished off the Puerto Rican champion with a vicious right hook to the jaw late in the seventh round, earning a TKO victory. By picking up his eight eight consecutive stoppage victory, the 22-year-old Davis claimed a world title in his first-ever championship opportunity. And while he more than earned that title with a dominant performance, he also got a lot of help from his opponent, who employed an odd strategy from the get-go in his third title defense. Despite having a significant height and reach advantage, the 5-foot-8½ Pedraza chose to come out and pressure his smaller-but-stronger opponent with a come-forward style rather than box from the outside. Making matters worse, Pedraza—a naturally orthodox fighter who has the ability to switch-hit—decided to fight almost exclusively from a southpaw stance. That game plan completely backfired, as Davis immediately took advantage of Pedraza’s aggression, repeatedly piercing his defense with pinpoint body shots and uppercuts with either hand as well as his overhand left. Composed beyond his years, Davis flat-out punished Pedraza in the first three rounds, which the challenger swept on all three scorecards. Then in the fourth, when Pedraza raised both hands to his head, Davis went downstairs and hammered the body. The undefeated champion did manage to gain some momentum toward the end of the fourth and carried it over to the fifth, when he increased his punch output significantly. But whatever momentum Davis lost he regained with a single punch early in the sixth: a left hook to the liver that caused Pedraza to double over. Knowing he had his man hurt, Davis went on the attack while Pedraza went into survival mode, dropping his right arm to guard against another body shot. Somehow, Pedraza managed to get through the sixth, but it would be the last round he would finish. Back firmly in control of the fight, Davis unleashed a vicious right hand to the jaw late in Round 7 that put Pedraza on his backside in a corner of the ring. Knocked down for the first time as a pro, Pedraza sat on the canvas until referee Ricky Gonzalez reached the count of nine, then made it to his feet. However, Gonzalez quickly deemed Pedraza unfit to continue, waving an end to the fight—and Pedraza’s reign as champion—at the 2:36 mark. #JosePedraza #GervontaDavis #PedrazaDavis Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more info. Plant vs Truax HIGHLIGHTS: January 30, 2021 - PBC on FOX
Plant vs Truax HIGHLIGHTS: January 30, 2021 - PBC on FOX

Undefeated IBF Super Middleweight World Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant successfully defended his title with a masterful unanimous decision victory over former champion Caleb “Golden” Truax in the main event of FOX PBC Fight Night on Saturday night from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Using blazing hand speed, a stiff jab and punches from multiple angles, Plant battered Truax and kept him off balance over the course of the 12 rounds. It was a game effort from Truax, but Plant proved to be too much to handle. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Plant 120-108, a 12-round shutout. Plant sought the knockout but hurt his left hand early in the fight, forcing him to be less aggressive and more hesitant on offense. “I felt great. I dominated every round. I hardly got touched. He wasn’t giving me much either,’’ Plant said. “I felt like, early on, he was just looking to survive and move away. Then a third of the way into the fight, I hurt my hand. It’s kind of swollen. I felt something similar before. I’ve got to sit down and get it checked out but we’ll see. I don’t think it will hinder any upcoming fights. “A champion can adjust to anything. It’s about staying focused, staying disciplined and sticking to the game plan. Maybe the injury hindered me here and there but I felt I used it well – I got a dominant victory, a shutout on all three cards.” The 28-year-old Plant (21-0, 12 KOs) had scored back-to-back stoppage victories on FOX in his two title defenses, beating then undefeated Mike Lee in July 2019 before most recently turning away Germany’s Vincent Feigenbutz in a homecoming event last February in Nashville, Tennessee. The victory over Truax (31-5-2, 19 KOs)) was the third successful title defense for Plant, who captured the title in 2019 with a victory over Jose Uzcategui. Plant, who is from Nashville, Tennessee but now lives and trains in Las Vegas, was the underdog coming into the Uzcategui fight, before turning the tables with two early knockdowns on his way to a unanimous decision. There wasn’t nearly as much drama in the fight against Truax as Plant took control from start to finish, never allowing Truax to get into the fight in any measureable way. “I wanted the stoppage. I’m a little disappointed that my hand got hurt early in the fight. But I feel like I put on a good performance,’’ Plant said. “I feel like I’m the best super middleweight champion in the world. I want to become the first undisputed super middleweight champion. I’m ready for whoever, whenever. You line ‘em up and I’ll knock ‘em down.” For the 37-year-old Truax, the fight against Plant represented his last real chance to rejoin the world championship ranks. Truax had his championship-winning victory in December 2017 as he traveled to James DeGale’s native U.K. to wrest the title away in one of the year’s biggest upsets. Truax, who fights out of Saint Michael, Minnesota, dropped a narrow decision to DeGale in their 2018 rematch. Plant never allowed him to get close to his championship belt. “I’m a little disappointed. I wanted to put pressure on him and make it a dogfight, but he was elusive. He was able to escape out the back door. I wasn’t able to put a glove on him,’’ Truax said. “I knew he was going to be quick, but he was a little more elusive than I expected. It wasn’t a fast paced fight and credit to him for that. I wanted it to be a fast paced fight and put pressure on him, but he controlled the pace and he was very elusive. “I was never buzzed or hurt. I felt like my conditioning was very good the whole fight. He just jabbed the heck out of me. I’m going to go home and talk to my family and see what the next step is. I still feel like I have something to offer the game.” #CalebPlant #PlantTruax #CalebTruax Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more info. Garcia vs Redkach FULL FIGHT: January 25, 2020 - PBC on Showtime
Garcia vs Redkach FULL FIGHT: January 25, 2020 - PBC on Showtime

Two-division world champion Danny "Swift Garcia scored a dominant unanimous decision victory over Ivan "El Terrible" Redkach in their WBC Welterweight Title Eliminator Saturday night, headlining the action live on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center, the home of BROOKLYN BOXING™, in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions. "I want to thank team Garcia and all my fans in Brooklyn who came out to see me fight," said Garcia, after he was announced as the winner. Garcia (36-2, 21 KOs) was sharp from the outset, finding a place for his right hand against the aggressive southpaw Redkach (23-5-1, 18 KOs). Garcia kept Redkach weary of his offense by punctuating his combinations with his signature left hook. Redkach's offense was centered around landing a straight left hand to the midsection of Garcia, which he was able to place effectively at times. As the fight wore on, Garcia found more holes in Redkach's defense, stumbling Redkach with a left hook early in round four, and battering him with straight right hands late in round five. Garcia continued his dominance in the seventh round, landing numerous power punches that caused blood to trickle from Redkach's left eye. Garcia's dominance continued to the final round, ending with advantages across the board according to CompuBox. Garcia landed 51% of his power punches, held Redkach to just 88 punches landed and out landed Redkach by over 100 punches. "I thought the referee was going to stop it because I felt like I was punishing him," said Garcia. "He's a tough guy, he hung in there, I wanted to get the KO, but I didn't get it. I feel like I boxed smart, and I feel like that's what I needed after this layoff. I really wanted the knockout bad, but I'll accept this. "I'm not going to lie, I felt good, but I didn't feel my best. I did lose a lot of weight for this fight, so maybe that played a factor. From a long layoff, and just losing so much weight. I lost about 25 pounds in eight weeks." After 12 rounds of action, the judges were in agreement, giving Garcia the edge by final scores of 118-110 and 117-111 twice. "I promised myself that I'm going to stay in the gym now and stay in shape," said Garcia. "I felt regular, but then when I got on the scale a few weeks ago, I was like 'woah.' So maybe that played a factor, maybe it didn't. I make no excuses. I didn't feel my best, but I felt good." "This was very good experience for me," said Redkach. "He never had me hurt and I was able to learn a lot. I'm thankful to be in this position that my team put me in and I'm going to keep growing from here. I'm going to get back in the gym and get stronger and better. I'm thankful for the experience against Danny Garcia. I'm going to be back and be much better." After the fight, Garcia set his sights on the elite fighters in the welterweight division, including unified champion Errol Spence Jr. and WBA champion Manny Pacquiao. "Either or (Spence or Pacquiao)," said Garcia. "Either of those fights I would like to have. My style looks great against both fighters." #DannyGarcia #GarciaRedkach #FullFight Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more info. Davis vs Gamboa FULL FIGHT: December 28, 2019 - PBC on Showtime
Davis vs Gamboa FULL FIGHT: December 28, 2019 - PBC on Showtime

Gervonta Davis thrilled a boisterous crowd of 14,129 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, winning the vacant WBA World Lightweight title with a twelfth-round TKO over the courageous Yuriorkis Gamboa in the main event of an entertaining card on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing. Making his lightweight debut, Davis, a two-time champion at super featherweight, went into the 12th round for the first time in career, showing that he carries power late. On Friday, Davis (23-0, 22 KOs) initially weighed in at 136¼ before coming back to weigh 134.8 pounds 90 minutes later. There was some speculation that the weight cut would zap Davis’s energy reservoir. He had a lull in the middle rounds, though still managed to land 120 of 321 total punches (37%) to Gamboa’s 78/617 (13%). “Coming into this fight, I knew Gamboa was a tough opponent, even though everybody was writing him off,” Davis said. “I was catching him and I was hurting him, even though he was alert. I believe my performance was a C-plus. “The (weight cut) wasn’t really a problem. I blame myself. I’m improving. I feel comfortable at both weights (130 and 135). I’m the top dog.” Davis was sharp early on. With 1:45 left in the second, he dropped Gamboa with a short left cross. Gamboa rose but limped for the rest of the frame. Afterward, it was revealed that he had tore an achilles and would require surgery. In lasting until the twelfth, Gamboa (30-3, 18 KOs) not only showed bravery, but also had his moments during the fight. “I’m a warrior, I kept going,” the former unified world featherweight champion said afterward. “But as soon as I felt it, I knew it was ruptured. I can’t put pressure on it.” Gamboa’s corner taped up his right ankle between the fourth and fifth rounds. It didn’t matter. In the fifth, Davis exerted more punishment on Gamboa, landing a left hook off of Gamboa’s chin, then a left uppercut. The fight nearly ended in the eighth, when, late in the stanza, Davis floored Gamboa again with another left. The Cuban stumbled to his feet and was saved by a bell that rang moments later. Gamboa showed great character in hanging in against Davis. But the tone of the fight had grown monotonous. Davis was winning almost every second of every round. Finally, in the twelfth, Davis connected with a beautiful left uppercut square on Gamboa’s chin. He crashed to the canvas a third time. Referee Jack Reiss had seen enough, immediately waving the fight off. Official time was 1:17. #GervontaDavis #DavisGamboa #FullFight Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more info. Spence vs Porter FULL FIGHT: September 28, 2019 - PBC on FOX PPV
Spence vs Porter FULL FIGHT: September 28, 2019 - PBC on FOX PPV

Errol "The Truth" Spence Jr. (26-0, 21 KOs) unified the IBF and WBC Welterweight World Titles Saturday night against two-time champion "Showtime" Shawn Porter (30-3-1,17 KOs) in an action-packed main event of a FOX Sports PBC Pay-Per-View from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. "It feels good to win," said Spence. "This is a lifetime dream. It shows hard work pays off. Thanks Shawn Porter, my whole team and all my Texas people for coming out." The back and forth brawl immediately garnered well-deserved Fight of the Year conversation as the two welterweight champions traded power punches from the opening bell to the end. Porter showed his trademark aggressive style throughout the action, smothering Spence while throwing his own power punches. "Shawn Porter is a rough and awkward fighter," said Spence. "I didn't get off what I wanted to. He's a true champion. He made it tough." That left it up to Spence to weather the oncoming storm and find spots to land power punches of his own. According to CompuBox, Spence landed 44% of his power punches, to 25% from Porter. "He's a strong kid," said Porter. "We both came in to do the job. I think I had a little more than what he expected, but he handled it. Congratulations to him and his team. We're proud of what we did." In round four, Porter had Spence in some trouble, as his power shots to the head and body put Spence on the defensive. The strategy from Porter stayed the same throughout, as Spence began to adjust and find a home for his offense, especially the sweeping left hook. Round eight saw the action taken up to yet another level as Spence initially got the worst of one of the numerous exchanges, before settling in and responding enough to keep Porter at bay. The high-octane fight continued to entertain heading into the championship rounds with the fight up in the balance. Spence landed one of the decisive blows of the bout in round 11, connecting flush with that sweeping left hook and scoring a knockdown when Porter's knee and glove hit the canvas. As expected, Porter rebounded strong, going at Spence and putting him on the back foot for most of the remainder of the round. "I think that knockdown was the difference," said Porter. "I couldn't come back to the corner with my head down after that." The final round was more of the same, with both fighters going toe-to-toe and leaving the STAPLES Center crowd on their feet and roaring until the final bell. The final punch stats saw both men throw nearly an equal number of punches, with Spence edging Porter 745 to 744 in punches thrown and 221 to 172 in punches landed. "All my punches have bad intentions," said Spence. "By boxing Mikey Garcia, I wanted to show people I could do it with that style. Porter was throwing a lot. I wanted to show I was the bigger and stronger welterweight." After 12 rounds the close nature of the fight yielded a split decision from the judges. One judge saw the fight 115-112 for Porter, overruled by two judges who saw it 116-111 for Spence. In the ring after the fight, Spence was confronted and called out by former two-division champion Danny Garcia for a potential showdown next. "It was a top dog fight tonight," said Garcia. "I want you next Errol. It was a tough rugged fight. Shawn Porter is a tough fighter. I'm here to say I want next." "My how the tables have turned," said Spence. "I've told my team, you line them up, I'll knock them down." #SpencePorter #ErrolSpence #ShawnPorter Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more info.
