Newcastle United 1 Leeds United 2 Premier League Match Review. The Premier League was back at St James' Park as Newcastle United entertained Leeds United. Unfortunately for the Toon Army their dismal run continues as they went down 2-1. Steve Bruce continued with his 5 at the back system with Hayden playing there again. Manqullio dropped which I found amazing given he'd been OK at Villa. Newcastle United were very poor in the first half but to their credit played much better in the second half, much better pressing and tried to attack Leeds United. However it wasn't to be and the question is will it be back to Bruceball on Saturday when Newcastle United go to Everton in the Premier League. Newcastle United v Leeds United Premier League Match Preview. Surely this is the last chance saloon for Steve Bruce after a run of ten games without a win in the Premier League. Leeds United travel to St. James' Park on Tuesday night in the Premier League to take on a very out of form Newcastle United. After the shocking performance at Villa Park the Toon Army will be looking to end a dreadful run of form by securing three points. Newcastle United are sleepwalking their way into the relegation zone and if results don't improve soon it may be to late to try and change the manager and get out of trouble. Leeds United aren't in the best form either coming into the game however, they will be looking for a repeat their performance at Elland Road against Newcastle United where they destroyed them 5-2 in the Premier League. Absolutely embarrassing performance from Newcastle United at Bramall Lane in this Premier League encounter. Sheffield United hadn't won a Premier League game this season but Steve Bruce still decided to play 5 at the back! Disgraceful decision!! It is very clear now that his luck has well and truly ran out and he's been completely found out. Newcastle United never looked liked getting anything from the game from the off as Sheffield United controlled the play and looked like the team that wanted to win the most. Newcastle United 0 Liverpool 0 Premier League Match Review. What a difference a few days can make! Newcastle United entertained Liverpool at SJP in the Premier League and actually turned up for once. The Premier League champions were given a very tough match by a very passionate Newcastle United. Brilliant defending and fantastic goalkeeping played a major part in Newcastle United getting a point but they also tested Liverpool in parts and showed a real desire to get something from the game. Manchester City 2 Newcastle United 0 Premier League Match Review. Newcastle United travelled to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City in the Premier League and once again came away empty handed. Pretty much a training session for Manchester City as they never really had to get out of first gear. Newcastle United were once again so poor with no passion or belief that they could get anything from this Premier League match. Steve Bruce said he was happy they responded to the Brentford defeat but personally I didn't see it. It was awful from the off and to make us all feel better, it's Liverpool next!
