Veldheer joins the Colts

When the Indianapolis Colts reached out for help, retired offensive lineman Jared Veldheer answered the call. After multiple offensive linemen were lost to injury, a Colts coach called Veldheer at home in Grand Rapids to find out if he was interested in coming out of retirement. Veldheer had been helping coach the East Grand Rapids football team, but says he had an "itch" to play again. After just 2 days practicing with the team Veldheer started at left tackle against the Jaguars and helped Indy secure a playoff berth. He is scheduled to start again when the Colts travel to Buffalo for a wild card playoff game January 9.
