The Tigers won a penalty after David Meyler was brought down in the area, Robert Koren converted the resulting penalty to give the City the lead. Forest then were awarded a penalty of their own which Billy Sharp converted to bring the score level. The winning goal came from an unlikely source as Paul McShane tapped home from a Robert Koren corner to give the Tigers a 2-1 win at the City Ground.
