The exact date for the mega auction will be revealed later. All the IPL franchises are already down to planning and plotting for the mega auction. A few big changes are expected to be made in the IPL about which the announcements are expected to be made after the auction. Speaking about the IPL 2025 mega auction, in the meeting held between the IPL franchise owners and the BCCI on July 31, several team owners expressed their disinterest in the mega auctions. However, they were in favor of mini auctions ahead of every IPL season. Teams, particularly against the mega auction, were Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. They said that the mega auction disrupts the squad that the franchise owners prepare for four to five years which in turn affects the consistency of the team.
