Local fans filled the streets, cheering as the Dodgers passed by. The Dodgers finished the regular season with 98 wins, clinching the National League West Division title. In the postseason, they defeated the Padres in the Division Series and overcame the Mets in the Championship Series to advance to the World Series. Facing the Yankees, they claimed victory with a 4-1 series win, securing their eighth World Championship title, the first in four years. On the 1st, the Dodgers held the victory parade in their hometown of Los Angeles. Players, their families, and team staff rode through about 1.6 kilometers from Los Angeles City Hall to the city center on seven double-decker buses, receiving cheers from local fans along the way. Ohtani joined the parade with his wife, Mamiko, and their dog, Dekopin, smiling and waving to fans along the route. Pitcher Yamamoto, who started Game 2 and became only the second Japanese pitcher to earn a World Series win, shared the same bus with Ohtani, also waving and smiling at the crowd. Although this is the Dodgers’ first World Series title in four years, the last celebration parade in Los Angeles was held 36 years ago in 1988.
