Tonight, The Climbing The Pocket Network personalities of Jayson Brown. Myles Gorham , Flip Mazzi and Nick Olson recap the Minnesota Vikings win over the Detroit Lions, discuss team building with Zim and Rick and how the Vikings should handle the 2021 offseason, our top choices to replace Kubiak, and some notable free agents that would look great in purple. Your Minnesota Vikings defeated the Detroit Lions in an almost meaningless week 17 game to finish the season at a very painful 7-9. With that, the Vikes land the #14 draft slot and next season’s opponents have been set. Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer will get a chance to run everything back. After 7 seasons though, have they reached their collective ceiling? Can they bounce back with a more competitive team and one that makes a long run in the playoffs? Gary Kubiak might retire and Zimmer will be looking for a new offensive coordinator… again. Who will that be? Who would you like it to be? Who will maximize Kirk Cousins’ play and still play to Mike’s love of running the football with Dalvin Cook? After lots of injuries, especially on the defensive side of the football, getting those guys back and healthy will help, but what other free agents are available that can contribute to making the defense good or even elite again? What about the offensive side? The refrain of, “can he play guard?” rings across the Vikings Nation. Might one of those players be someone we see play this weekend for the Wildcard round of the playoffs? Let us know, and join us in the discussion. 00:00 - Roll In 03:38 - Intro 06:30 - Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions Recap 14:20 - Mike Zimmer's Press Conference & 2020 Lessons Learned 31:10 - Fire Zimmer to create more continuity on offense? 44:06 - Can Zimmer develop non-blue chip talent successfully? 51:51 - Potential 2021 Vikings Free Agent targets 61:51 - NFL Wild Card weekend (kinda) Subscribe to us here! - https://www.youtube.com/c/climbingthepocket?sub_confirmation=1 // Want More Content From Us? Climbing The Pocket Network’s ‘In The Huddle’ show combines some of the CTPN personalities to your Minnesota Vikings, the previous game against the Carolina Panthers and look forward to the Jacksonville Jaguars coming to town this Sunday. Dave opens the show announcing that CTPN will be going live with show broadcasts everyday of the month of December in an event called Vlogmas 2020. #LetsGetLive Nick leads with his praise of Kirk Cousins. His play has been very, very good over the last month and he hopes it continues from Kirktober last season into Kirkuary this one. Myles asks if we all can put the arguments to rest over “is Kirk Cousins better than Teddy Bridgewater?” Eric details that discussion. Jayson gets into the possible playoff picture and will the Vikings as constructed get there? Eric talks about the NFC being flat once you get beyond the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers. The Flip gets into with some of the viewers. “The Vikings aren’t even at .500 yet!” What a year 2020 has been for all of us and the purple. Join in the conversation and let’s talk some football!
