BRB (Breaking The Backboard) Episode #005 Micheal Beasley Gets Real, Dallas Mavs Hire Kagameâs Right-Hand Man! In this EP Isaac & Fernando break down the latest Club Shay Shay sit-down with Shannon Sharpe & Michael Beasley as it opens the door for them to explain the violent nature of sports media & capitalism when you don't fit the mold that is "shut up and dribble," along with pushing back on some notions uttered by Michael that we feel are one of many reasons a mic isn't the best thing for him, but rather a group of decolonial thinkers that can guide him on a path of revolution rather than exploitation. We also break down the news that the Dallas Mavericks are hiring Masai Ujiri, who is connected to Kagame in Rwanda, and it is a major neocolonial totalitarian regime that is aiding in the Gcide of our Congolese/Sudanese sisters and brothers. How is this connected to Zionism? Should we question Kyrie as he stands against this he says? Beasley reflects on growing up in Maryland, surrounded by family members who were incarcerated, including his grandfather, father, and uncle. He shares how basketball became his outlet after shooting his first shot at three years old and beginning organized basketball at eight. He explains how being oversized for his age shaped the way people viewed him and how he often felt misunderstood.

UTRGV advances to the Lamar Bracket of the Southland Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed facing No. 6 seed Northwestern State Thursday at 1 p.m. The winner faces the winner of No. 2 Lamar and No. 7 Stephen F. In this game, junior Easton Moomau led the Vaqueros (26-27) offensively by going 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and two runs scored. Moomau led off the second with a 419â home run to center to put the Vaqueros up 1-0. It was Moomauâs sixth home run of the season. Moomau started a two-run rally in the sixth with a single. The Vaqueros went on to load the bases with two outs, setting up a two-run double by junior Rocco Garza Gongora to put the Vaqueros up 4-1. It was Garza Gongoraâs 19th double of the season, tied with Ivan Estrella (2017) and Osiel Flors (2007) for the second-highest single-season total in program history. The program record of 23 is held by Garrett Bivone (2010). The Texans (33-17) tied the game at 1 in the fourth when Slade McCloud drew a leadoff walk from sophomore Mason Engel (1-1), stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a Cage McCloud sacrifice fly. In the fifth, though, senior Rene GalvĂĄn drew a leadoff walk from Ashton Bassett (1-4). Graduate student Vela alum Rudy Gonzalez followed with a single. One out later, senior Thomas Williams hit a grounder to the right side. The throw to second sailed into left field, allowing GalvĂĄn to score to put the Vaqueros up 2-1. The Texans pulled within 4-2 in the seventh when Rayner Heinrich drew a bases loaded walk. Freshman Augie Grohman pitched 2.0 scoreless innings for his first-career save. Senior Los Fresnos alum VĂctor Loa started and struck out three in 2.0 scoreless innings.
January 19 1997 Rip Hamilton Paul Pierce Raef LaFrentz Jacque Vaughn The number one team in the nation, the Kansas Jayhawks, roll into the state of Connecticut at the worst possible time for UCONN. The school was in what was expected to be a rebuilding year, and had just suspended its two leading scorers, Kirk King and Ricky Moore. King would never play for UCONN again. With that being said, the words âroll overâ didnât exist in the lexicon of a team coached by Jim Calhoun. Instead of packing it in and accepting their fate, the UCONN Huskies threw everything they had at the experienced, loaded number one team in the nation. Led by 18 year old freshman Richard Hamilton and Rashmael Jones, UCONN kept it close, despite Paul Pierce, Jacque Vaughn, and Raef LaFrentzâs best efforts. Fans attending at the Hartford Civic Center got their moneyâs worth.
Virginia Tech vs. Duke: For the first time since 2012, the Virginia Tech Hokies are heading to the ACC Softball Championship game. The third-seeded Hokies defeated the second-seeded Blue Devils, 5-0. The only other time that Duke has ever been shut out in an ACC Tournament game was also against Virginia Tech in 2018. All of Virginia Tech's runs came via the home run. Michelle Chatfield, Nora Abromavage, and Rachel Castine each hit a solo home run, and Kylie Aldridge hit a 2-run home run in the seventh inning. ACC Freshman of the Year Bree Carrico pitched 5.2 innings of scoreless softball, giving up just three hits while striking out four. Emma Mazzarone came in to the game in relief and got the final four outs of the game. Virginia Tech will take on top-seeded Florida State in the championship game. SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/Oqg3iE The ACC Digital Network (theACCDN) is a project of Raycom Sports, a long-time television producer and partner of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
