TuS Koblenz unterliegt Mechtersheim im Stadion Oberwerth mit 0:3 Keine Punkte gab es für die TuS Koblenz am 31. Spieltag im Heimspiel der Oberliga-Meisterrunde gegen den TuS Mechtersheim zu holen, man unterlag mit 0:3. Die erste Hiobsbotschaft erwartete die Schängel schon vor dem Anpfiff: Die fürs Startaufgebot vorgesehenen Daniel von der Bracke und German Kurbashyan verletzten sich beim Aufwärmen und konnten für die Koblenzer nicht auflaufen, Clinton Asare und Marcel Wingender ersetzten die beiden Stammkräfte. Doch wenngleich die TuS personell nicht aus dem Vollen schöpfen konnte, so war man in den Anfangsminuten die deutlich agilere Mannschaft, mehrere gute Abschlussgelegenheiten blieben allerdings ungenutzt. Mechtersheim strahlte zunächst eher wenig Torgefahr aus, erst in der 43. Spielminute erspielte man sich bei den Gästen den ersten Hochkaräter: Mert Özkaya setzte sich auf der rechten Defensivseite der TuS Koblenz gegen Dominic Fuß durch und bediente mit einem klugen Pass seinen Zwillingsbruder Kaan Özkaya. Dieser ließ sich aus bester Position nicht zweimal bitten und traf aus wenigen Meter zum 0:1 Pausenstand aus Koblenzer Sicht. Unverändert kamen beide Mannschaften aus der Kabine, die Schängel taten sich in Durchgang zwei gegen kompakt stehende Mechtersheimer schwer: Man war um Ballkontrolle bemüht und besaß über weite Strecken mehr Ballbesitz, aber es waren ausschließlich die Gäste, die sich gute Chancen erspielen sollten: Robin Muth spitzelte in der 54. Minute einen an den Pfosten geprallten Distanzschuss von Ristovski gedankenschnell über die Linie und nur eine Minute später war es Mert Özkaya der nach Vorarbeit von Robin Muth per Kopf zur Stelle war. Ein Doppelpack binnen weniger Sekunden und ein 0:3 nach 55 Minuten. Torhüter Jonas Bast blieb es zu verdanken, dass Mechtersheim nicht noch ein weiteres Tor nachlegte, zweimal parierte der 18-Jährige Schlussmann der TuS Koblenz glänzend. Schwierige Wochen für die Blau-Schwarzen, die erneut nichts Zählbares an diesem Sonntag auf dem Punktekonto verbuchen konnten. Zwar erlitt man keine Niederlage, die sportlich dramatische Folgen mit sich ziehen würde, jedoch sorgte der Auftritt der Schängel im blau-schwarzen Lager für die ein oder andere Sorgenfalte. Die nächste Gelegenheit zu punkten, bietet sich am Sonntag, dem 22. Mai um 14:00 Uhr, dann sind die Schängel zu Gast beim FV Dudenhofen.
