HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-1) | Saka and Odegaard give us all three points!
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-1) | Saka and Odegaard give us all three points!

Bukayo Saka struck the first after Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu were involved in the build up, before Martin Odegaard doubled our lead after more one-touch wizardry from Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah both hit the post and Wolves ensured a tense finale when they pulled one back through Matheus Cunha, but we held on to complete an excellent week. Coming into the game on a real high after last weekend’s late win over Brentford, and the dismantling of Lens in midweek, we started as you might expect - with a spring in our step. The game was just six minutes old when we took the lead. Saka started and finished the move, with some wonderful work on the right flank. Faced up by two defenders, he fed a pass through to Jesus, who in turn laid it off for Tomiyasu outside the box. Meanwhile Saka had continued his run into the danger area, received Tomiyasu’s first time pass, beat his man before sliding home right-footed. On Wednesday our early goal opened the floodgates against Lens, and we threatened to do the same here when we added a second seven minutes later. It was another excellent move to carve out the second goal, this time on the left flank. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus and played a quick one-two to get behind the Wolves defence, and the Ukrainian pulled his pass back to where Odegaard crisply found the net with a first-time shot low into the corner. It was a rampant start by Mikel Arteta’s team, and Leandro Trossard was next to go close. He just about got a toe to Odegaard’s clipped throughball, but he shot was smothered by Jose Sa in the Wolves goal. It was Sa’s last involvement, as he had to go off injured, to be replaced by Dan Bentley midway through the half. From our position of strength, we continued playing with plenty of aggressive and attacking purpose. Trossard had a shot blocked in the box and Rice saw an effort deflected wide as we racked up the shot count. Gabriel Martinelli was denied a wonderful goal by the upright, after Saka found him at the end of a counter-attack. Just moments earlier he had ran back the length of the pitch to stop a promising Wolves attack. During the seven minutes injury-time at the end of the first half, Gabriel Jesus shot tamely at Bentley when free in the box, and Trossard scuffed a shot wide after yet more geometric artistry in the build up. The last act of the opening 45 minutes though was David Raya – a virtual spectator so far – standing firm to deny Hwang Hee-Chan when he suddenly picked up possession on the edge of the box. At the start of the second-half we had a penalty appeal turned down, when Max Kilman appeared to have hold of Jesus, preventing him from getting on the end of a Tomiyasu whipped cross. Despite a VAR review though, the referee’s decision not to award the spot kick stood. The pace of the game had dropped though, and Wolves sensed a way back in. Matheus Cunha drew a smart save from Raya at the near post, and we responded with another long spell of possession. But the build-up play was patient rather than explosive. Rice dragged a shot wide and Saka saw a dipping effort from 20 yards fly over before Trossard had a real chance for the third. A wonderful flick by Odegaard set him through on goal, but Bentley was out well to deny the Belgian, and then save from Saka’s follow up shot. Without that third goal, Wolves were always alive, and they capitalised on some sloppy defensive play to pull one back. Zinchenko and Rice failed to clear the ball inside the box, and Cunha thrashed home superbly, with five minutes of the 90 left. Eddie Nketiah so nearly restored the two-goal cushion instantly. Again Odegaard was the creator, this time Nketiah slid the ball past the keeper, but his shot hit the inside of the post and bounced away to safety. Wolves piled more pressure on in injury-time, but we stood firm to record three more Premier League points. #arsenal Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Gabriel Jesus, Alex Zinchenko, Leah Williamson, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White and more.

Nottingham Forest 3-1 Queens Park Rangers: The 1865 Match Report
Nottingham Forest 3-1 Queens Park Rangers: The 1865 Match Report

A blistering comeback from Forest was kickstarted by a thunderbastard from Djed Spence, as Forest eventually stteamrollered a stubborn and niggly QPR side. In a match that was another great advert for the Championship, despite a torrential downpour and a soggy pitch, Forest showed their ability throughout, but it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play when Andre Gray ran between the lines, converting Ilias Chair's excellent throughball from a tight angle. For all that Forest were trying to overcome the shirt pulling and constant niggles, it needed something special to get the Reds back in the match, as Djedmond Spence conjured up a swerving shot into the top corner. After that, it still could have swung either way, but the forces of footballing good prevailed as Ryan Yates' deflected effort from a corner hit home, and then Brennan Johnson sealed the victory after sub Cafu's effort was well-saved following a counter-attack by subs Joe Lolley and Sam Surridge. Nottingham Forest 4-0 Reading: The 1865 Match Report
Nottingham Forest 4-0 Reading: The 1865 Match Report

Two goals from Keinan Davis set Forest on their way to an emphatic victory against relegation-threatened Reading. The Reds couldn't have made a better start, with Joe Worrall's throughball, Djed Spence's cross and Davis' turn and finish putting the home team in the lead after just 17 seconds! However, the rest of the first half was flat at best, with Ethan Horvath having to make a crucial save and Forest players struggling to play on the front foot. Max Lowe's enforced substitution enabled a tactical tweak, with sub Cafu playing in the hole, enabling Jimmy Garner to drop back into central midfield, and The Reds reaped the benefits in the second half. All the goals were tidy, with Yates and Surridge putting the seal on the victory, but it was the second goal that got everyone talking: Davis received the ball with his back to goal 25 yards out, and in one move he turned and shrugged off three men, before approaching the box and curling home a fine finish. Power, pace, confidence and finesse - this goal was Collymore-esque. The game ended on a sombre note however, as Davis' rival for man of the match, Steve Cook, limped off with a painful looking injury, and with all subs used, Forest finished the game with ten men. The Maradona of the Midlands and Rich Ferraro dissect the game, discussing memories of Jack Lester, the contributions of Yates and Surridge, and Steve Cooper's tactical tweaks. HIGHLIGHTS | Leeds vs Arsenal (1-4) | Premier League | Martinelli, Saka, Smith Rowe
HIGHLIGHTS | Leeds vs Arsenal (1-4) | Premier League | Martinelli, Saka, Smith Rowe

A thoroughly dominant first-half performance laid the platform for an excellent away win at Leeds. Gabriel Martinelli netted twice and Bukayo Saka was also on target in a mesmerising opening 45 minutes, in which we mustered 11 shots on target - the most in a single half of Premier League football since 2003/04. Leeds rallied briefly in the second half, scoring from the penalty spot, but Emile Smith Rowe came off the bench to net his seventh Premier League goal of the season late on to seal the three points. There were signs of what was to come from the very first whistle. We had three very good chances within moments of kick off. Martin Odegaard found Alexandre Lacazette with a fantastic throughball, but the Leeds keeper Illan Meslier was down well to deny him when one on one. The rebound was prodded wide by Saka and with our next attack Thomas Partey saw his shot turned away at the near post. It was a bright start full of intent and ambition, with Kieran Tierney next to test the keeper with a right-footed strike. That was all in the first five minutes, and the game settled down until Martinelli lashed us into the lead. The Leeds defence hesitated, appealing for a foul by Lacazette, but referee Andre Marriner waved play on, and crucially Martinelli remained alert, to smash the ball home. VAR also saw nothing untoward with the strike. The goal brought up a milestone for the Gunners - it was our 7,000th scored in the top-flight of English football, becoming the third side to the landmark, after Everton and Liverpool. Our first came some 117 years ago. Leeds, severely depleted with injury and missing nine players, were still full of running, and nearly brought themselves level when Raphinha wriggled past Tierney and shot just wide with Aaron Ramsdale wrong-footed. We continued to make chances though, and soon doubled our lead. This time Granit Xhaka released Martinelli through the middle, and the 20-year-old forward kept his composure, bore down on goal, and lifted a wonderful finish over Meslier. It was no more than we deserved after an excellent start. We were swarming around the Leeds defence, and Lacazette was next to go close, forcing another save from Meslier after great build up play involving Saka and Odegaard. Saka increased the lead just before half-time, his shot was deflected in past the keeper, after just about beating the offside trap. The only surprise is that we weren't leading by more at the interval. Leeds were in no mood to lay down though, and cheered on by the Elland Road faithful, came out fired up for the second half. A clumsy challenge from Ben White inside the area gave them a route back into the game when Raphinha fired home the resulting penalty. More than a quarter of an hour remaining and all of a sudden it was game on again. The hosts' tails were up, but a thumping finish from substitute Smith Rowe restored our three-goal advantage. Odegaard pounced on a loose ball and weighted his pass into the advancing Smith Rowe, and the England man made no mistake with his first-time finish. It sealed an excellent away win - our first since beating Leicester in October - and consolidated our place in the top four going in to Christmas. #arsenal #martinelli #saka Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Emile Smith Rowe, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Bukayo Saka, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. HIGHLIGHTS | Sheffield United vs Arsenal (0-3) | Premier League | Lacazette, Martinelli
HIGHLIGHTS | Sheffield United vs Arsenal (0-3) | Premier League | Lacazette, Martinelli

Alexandre Lacazette claimed his 50th Premier League goal as we returned to winning ways in convincing fashion at Bramall Lane. The Frenchman opened the scoring with his 49th in the competition - applying the finishing touch to a wonderful team move - before sealing the win late on with goal number 50, tucking home Thomas Partey's excellent throughball. In between those two goals, Gabriel Martinelli scored his first for 15 months, after good work from Nicolas Pepe. There was a welcome clean sheet as well, as we prepared for Thursday's must-win encounter in Prague in the perfect manner. The only blot on the evening was an injury to Bukayo Saka, and it was the youngster – operating in a free role behind the forwards – who had our first attempt, blazing over after bursting into the penalty area. The hosts were passing the ball nicely themselves though and David McGoldrick fired a shot just wide from the edge of the area in an evenly matched opening quarter of an hour. But our link-up play up front was much improved from recent weeks, and we soon took control. Saka, Pepe and Martinelli were combing particularly well, while Dani Ceballos was full of nice touches in midfield. It was one such delightful flick from the Spaniard that set up the opening goal for Lacazette. We worked the ball well outside the area, with Thomas Partey and Saka involved, before Ceballos found Lacazette with a deft touch, and he finished neatly past Aaron Ramsdale. It was a wonderful flowing team goal, and no more than we deserved at that point. Martinelli had already flashed a couple of efforts wide while Calum Chambers – up from full back – had seen his low effort blocked by a defender when it seemed destined for the net. Martinelli himself had a goalbound effort blocked when the ball fell to him from a half-cleared corner. We were well on top by the break, and should really have been further ahead. We continued to make chances after the break – Lacazette was unable to supply the finishing touch after being set up by Pepe – but we didn't look comfortable until the second goal finally came, 20 minutes from time. It was Pepe who pounced on a loose pass, his low shot was only parried by Ramsdale, and Martinelli was in the right place to tap home his first goal since netting at Stamford Bridge in January 2020. Lacazette raced through late on and confidently tucked home Partey's pass to bring up his half century - becoming the 10th Arsenal player to the landmark. Now all thoughts shift to the Europa League. #arsenal #martinelli #lacazette Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, David Luiz, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Danielle van de Donk, Willian, Hector Bellerin, Jordan Nobbs, Bukayo Saka, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Thomas Partey and more.
