The Aâs came home from a brutal Philly-Baltimore road trip sitting two-and-a-half games up in the AL West, and Hobbs is officially sounding the alarm for the rest of baseball. This episode of Habit Hunter breaks down a gritty series win over the Orioles that showed something the Aâs havenât consistently had in years: real pitching stability. Hobbs dives deep into the numbers behind the rotation turnaround, the reduction in walks, and the biggest trend changing the season â starters finally keeping the team alive instead of detonating games by the third inning. Jacob Lopez continues flashing both promise and warning signs, Luis Severino battles through another frustrating outing, and Mitch Spence⊠well, âMr. Foot Trafficâ still exists in spirit through Mark Leiter Jr. chaos. At the plate, the stars are beginning to separate themselves from the pack. Shea Langeliers is turning into a full-blown superstar before everyoneâs eyes, Nick Kurtz keeps stacking quality at-bats like a veteran ten years older, and Brent Rooker is slowly dragging himself out of the Mendoza Line graveyard one loud RBI at a time. Hobbs also unloads on the teamâs horrifying strikeout totals, questionable bullpen usage, and the obsession with trying to squeeze âone more outâ from exhausted pitchers. Add in ABS drama, Jacob Wilsonâs scary injury, reverse-jinx wizardry from Booney, and a roll call that paints the picture of a first-place club learning how to win ugly, and this episode feels like the moment the Aâs stopped being a cute story and started looking dangerous. Hey hey! Finally! A Komet Hockey playoff video! You all can stop asking and wondering, I finally did a Komets Playoff game. Itâs the Month of May, the Umamusumes did their running down in Louisville over the past weekend, which means weâre officially in my favorite time of year. Indy 500 Month, and the Komets are still playing hockey! Like last year, this video is all business (âallâ is a subjective termâŠ) letâs get into it. In the first round the Komets will take on the Indy âFishersâ Fuel. The first time the I-69 (nice) Rivalry has taken place in the postseason, in 1990-91 in the quarter finals of the Turner Cup playoffs. That series was full of carnage on the ice and in the stands with fans roughing up with each other and going the distance in seven games. That year was the First season of the Franke owned Komets which was critical to make a deep run. In which the Komets went all the way to the Finals before losing in six games to the Peoria (make them an ECHL franchise gosh darn it.) Rivermen. Nothing quite beats the atmosphere and energy of Playoff hockey, doesnât matter what the level is. Guys will lay the body on the line to have a date with âThe Cup.â This yearâs iteration well, letâs be blunt about it, isnât likely to go the distance. The Fort Wayne Komets, Central Division Regular Season Champs, have a 3-1 strangle hold on the series with chance to clinch the series in tonightâs game in five. In which that would be awesome to see a handshake line in this videoâŠIndy is just a mere bump in the road for the Komets. The real goal is to get back at those darn fish (barring a reverse sweep by the Bison) in the Division Finals. Toledo dumped the Komets out of the Playoffs last year in the 2nd round in painstaking fashion. So, revenge is on the mind of the Komets. Meanwhile, The Indy Fuel got their ticket to the playoffs on the final day of the regular season when the Komets helped The Fuel out by winning in regulation against Kalamazoo in game 72. That 1 point was the gap between Playoffs or not. A Kalamazoo OTL point would have had Indy booking their tee times at the Purgatory Golf Club via tiebreaker. (yes, thatâs a real course in the 317, a fantastic course too, Iâve played it last summer!) The Fuel franchise has never won a playoff series in its inception in 2014. One of, if not, the longest active drought in the ECHL. For that to happen this year would take some great defensive effort and some luck to win it in seven games. (If that were to happen, that would result in a nuclear meltdown of yours truly.) First we got to play the game(s) and see what happens. Not sure whatâs going to happen on the channel next, either more Komet Playoff hockey or I have a little treat in the vault. It is the Month of May, so expect an Indy 500 video(s) this month!
A routine play suddenly turns into pure confusion when the umpire calls a runner SAFE⊠but something doesnât add up. What they noticed moments later completely changed the gameâand led to a shocking reversal. #shorts #usa
The hopes of the Ghost Pirates are on life support, and the only way to advance is to pull off the rare reverse sweep.
