The Chicago Blackhawks picked up their 6th win on the season defeating the Dallas Stars by a score of 2-1 in overtime, improving their overall record to 6-4-4 on the season. The Blackhawks had a dreadful first period, lead by a brutal turnover by Pius Suter, leading to the Stars lone goal of the game by Rope Hintz. In the 2nd period the Blackhawks got on the board with a power play goal scored by former Dallas Stars forward Mattias Janmark, his fifth of the season, earning assists from Dominik Kubalik and a great pass and play from Phillip Kurashev. The 3rd period went scoreless with good goaltending on both sides of the ice. In overtime, Brandon Hagel made a slick passing play to Pius Suter, who sliced up the Stars defense like butter, scored a beautiful goal to give the Blackhawks the victory, his fifth of the season. Kevin Lankinen finished strong again, stopping 34 of 35 shots for a .971 save percentage. Look out for this kid, he is probably the favorite for the Calder right now and definitely in discussion for the Vezina.
