These changes in our defense have actually strengthened our unity! McCrorie, guarding the goal, showed confidence and dominance (four clean sheets, two against Celtic!). He fearlessly commanded his area, made crucial saves, and was exceptional with both feet. He deserves a first-team place or at least another chance to shine. 🧤🔝 ⚔️ Souttar emerged as our outstanding defender, despite not being left-footed. He embraced physical challenges, played comfortably on the left, carried the ball out from the back, and showcased his passing skills. A balanced center-back partnership is desirable, but Souttar's adaptability is commendable. 💪🏼🔝 ⚡️ Yilmaz had a solid game, displaying impressive speed and a tenacious tackling spirit. He sought to connect with Matondo and Sakala, although his final pass lacked precision. With guidance, this 21-year-old can refine his skills over the summer. Defensively, he was rarely beaten and can be proud of his performance. 💥👏🏼 🔀 In midfield, both teams fielded their regular players, but Beale's tactical adjustment prevented us from being overrun. Raskin, Lundstrum, and Jack provided solid defensive cover. Cantwell, relentless in his pursuit, disrupted McGregor's attempts to launch attacks. We suffocated them, denying them time and space. ⚡️🔒 ⚔️ Upfront, an untested pairing of Sakala and Matondo, with Cantwell in support, proved effective. Surprisingly, the press neglected this, fixating on Kyogo's absence for Celtic. This combination injected pace and power into our attack, a long-awaited boost. Sakala's relentless pressure unsettled the opposition's center-backs throughout the game. Is he our first-choice striker for next season? The question remains. ⚡️💥 ⚙️ Matondo didn't make remarkable contributions, despite a couple of promising runs. His pace was underutilized. His work rate was commendable, but it should be the bare minimum requirement at Rangers. After 60 minutes, he looked fatigued and was substituted by Hagi. Consistency and game time will help him develop chemistry with the team. ⚡️🔄 🛡️ Out of today's Rangers lineup, Tav, Goldson, Lundstrum, Raskin, Cantwell, and possibly Jack would be the fan-favorite first-choice picks when we have a fully fit squad. 🙌 Let's not overlook the fact that both teams experienced defensive changes. Credit must be given to those who stepped up and played their hearts out for the jersey. While individual performances may not have reached the highest quality, their dedication was unquestionable.
