Manchester City have won the FA Cup for the eighth time after a 1-0 win against Chelsea at Wembley. Antoine Semenyo’s brilliant backheel finish in the second half was the difference between the two sides in the Wembley showpiece. Incredibly, it marks our 20th major honour in Pep Guardiola’s glittering decade in charge to this point. After League Cup success earlier in the campaign, this is only the sixth time in English football history that a team has won both domestic cup competitions. It is the second time we have done so, having previously lifted both in 2018/19. This win also extends the time between our first and most recent FA Cup trophies to 122 years, furthering our own record. Only Arsenal and Manchester United have ever won the historic competition more than us. This is Pep Guardiola’s third FA Cup win, having led us to be the first team to four successive finals and eight consecutive semi-finals. The Catalan has won 46 ties in the FA Cup since arriving in England in 2016, nine more than the next best team in that period. Chelsea have been looking for a new manager after Liam Rosenior was sacked in April after only three months in charge, and the former Real Madrid boss was the number one target to take over at Stamford Bridge. The other candidates Sky Sports News knew Chelsea were interested in were Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and Fulham head coach Marco Silva. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner, Como's Cesc Fabregas and ex-Flamengo boss Felipe Luis were other names being considered. #football #premierleague #chelsea MMA: https://bit.ly/SkySportsMMA Netball: https://bit.ly/SkySportsNetball NFL: https://bit.ly/SkySportsNFL Rugby League: https://bit.ly/SkySportsRugbyLeague Rugby Union: https://bit.ly/SkySportsRugbyUnion Tennis: https://bit.ly/SkySportsTennis More from Sky Sports on YouTube: ► Sky Sports: http://bit.ly/SkySportsSub ► Sky Sports Boxing: http://bit.ly/SSBoxingSub ► Sky Sports Cricket: http://bit.ly/SubscribeSkyCricket ► Sky Sports Darts: https://bit.ly/SubSkySportsDarts ► Sky Sports Football: http://bit.ly/SSFootballSub ► Sky Sports F1: http://bit.ly/SubscribeSkyF1 ► Sky Sports Golf: https://bit.ly/SubscribeSkySportsGolf ► Sky Sports News: http://bit.ly/SkySportsNewsSub ► Sky Sports Premier League: https://bit.ly/SubscribeSkySportsPL ► Sky Sports Retro: http://bit.ly/SkySportsRetroSub ► Sky Sports WSL: https://bit.ly/SubscribeSkySportsWSL ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/skysports ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/skysports/ ► TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@skysports ► X: https://x.com/skysports ►Website: https://www.skysports.com ► To enquire about licensing Sky Sports content, you can find out more here: https://www.skysports.com/more-sports/news/31754/11434270/license-sky-sports-footage
