About this Video: In his hometown of Columbia, South Carolina, the former New England Patriots wide receiver was killed in a motorbike accident. Patten played for five NFL clubs, with the Patriots and coach Bill Belichick winning three Super Bowls in a row from 2001 to 2004. In Super Bowl 36, he grabbed Tom Brady's first postseason touchdown throw as the Patriots defeated the St Louis Rams 20-17. Patten was undrafted in 1996, but after a season with the Albany Firebirds of the Arena Football League, he made it to the NFL.
