The Chicago Blackhawks dropped both of their last 2 games in overtime to the Nashville Predators. They were both good games. Goaltending from both teams was really good and they both kept their teams in the game. Alex Debrincat and Adam Boqvist are on COVID protocol. They will be out a minimum 14 days. I think the main story from these Blackhawks games is Malcolm Subban having a good return to net and Kevin Lankinen looking like the goalie of the future. Ian Mitchell is looking pretty good on defense as well. Thank you for watching! Check us out on Twitter! https://twitter.com/TomahawkChicago

Mattias Janmark scored a goal for the 3rd consecutive game bringing his point total up to 4 in the first 7 games of the season. The Blackhawks penalty kill went 4-4 on the evening, giving the special teams a great overall game. Today we're talking about Rasmus Dahlin, the 1st overall pick out of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, who's had a rough start to the 2021 campaign with the Buffalo Sabres. A poor showing against the Washington Capitals last night ended up in him being benched for a large portion of the game. Obviously this isn't anything to fret about long-term, as the Sabres and Dahlin have only played five games, but still I think it's, at the very least, worth having a discussion about. This video is taking place during 2021 NHL Season. Unique to the 2021 NHL Season Divisions are new divisions, which go as follows: North Division: Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, and Winnipeg Jets. West Division: Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, and Vegas Golden Knights. Central Division: Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators, and Tampa Bay Lightning. East Division: Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Washington Capitals. This also is taking place after the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Chicago Blackhawks fell 5-2 to Joel Quenneville's revamped Florida Panthers, bringing their early season record to a 0-3-0 tally. Adam Boqvist continues to have defensive struggles, culminating in being benched the final 8 minutes of the 2nd period. Pius Suter makes a dazzling spin-o-rama pass to Patrick Kane in a goal that was overturned due to offsides. and Jeremy Colliton struggles to maintain any idea of what is going on behind the bench. We made this video a few days after the 2018 NHL Entry Draft two years ago, but I wanted to revisit this topic because I don't think I did the first upload justice all those years ago. In this video, we're going to talk about the Vancouver Canucks, and Jim Benning's draft list of the top 7 prospects in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The Canucks ultimately went with Quinn Hughes 7th overall, who has proved everyone in Vancouver right that he was a great pickup. However, news from the time suggests that Hughes wouldn't have been a high pickup on their draft list, and that a few other guys could potentially have gone instead, had the team had the choice. The real draft order for the 1st round went as follows: Rasmus Dahlin to the Buffalo Sabres, Andrei Svechnikov to the Carolina Hurricanes, Jesperi Kotkaniemi to the Montreal Canadiens, Brady Tkachuk to the Ottawa Senators, Barrett Hayton to the Arizona Coyotes, Filip Zadina to the Detroit Red Wings, Quinn Hughes to the Vancouver Canucks, Adam Boqvist to the Chicago Blackhawks, Vitali Kravtsov to the New York Rangers, Evan Bouchard to the Edmonton Oilers, Oliver Wahlstrom and Noah Dobson to the New York Islanders, Ty Dellandrea to the Dallas Stars, Joel Farabee to the Philadelphia Flyers, Grigori Denisenko to the Florida Panthers, Martin Kaut to the Colorado Avalanche, Ty Smith to the New Jersey Devils, Liam Foudy to the Columbus Blue Jackets, Jay O'Brien to the Philadelphia Flyers, Rasmus Kupari to the Los Angeles Kings, Ryan Merkley to the San Jose Sharks, K'Andre Miller to the New York Rangers, Isac Lundeström to the Anaheim Ducks, Filip Johansson to the Minnesota Wild, Dominik Bokk to the St. Louis Blues, Jacob Bernard-Docker to the Ottawa Senators, Nicolas Beaudin to the Chicago Blackhawks, Nils Lundkvist to the New York Rangers, Rasmus Sandin to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Joe Veleno to the Detroit Red Wings, and Alexander Alexeyev to the Washington Capitals.
