Norris Division Semi-Finals (Nikolai Borschevsky BIO Below} (N2) Detroit Red Wings vs. (N3) Toronto Maple Leafs This was the 23rd playoff series meeting between these two teams. Both teams split the prior 22 playoff meetings. Detroit won the most recent meeting in six games in the 1988 Norris Division Semifinals. In a revival of the heated Original Six rivalry, Nikolai Borschevsky's game seven overtime goal gave Toronto the series and made them the sixth club to eliminate a team with a better regular season record in the first round of the playoffs. This was also Toronto's first playoff series win over Detroit since the Maple Leafs beat the Red Wings in the 1964 Stanley Cup Finals. Until 2009, this was the last Clarence Campbell/Western Conference playoff series to be played entirely within the Eastern Time Zone. Nicknamed "Stick" due to his diminutive frame, he was a star in the Soviet Union and went on to play in the National Hockey League for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars. Despite a successful NHL debut in 1992–93, he never achieved the same level of success in North America, with injuries limiting his effectiveness. He retired in 1998 after a second stint with Spartak Moscow. Russian career He spent the majority of his career playing in the Soviet Union, becoming a mainstay with Dynamo Moscow and later rivals Spartak Moscow. At Dynamo, he became a regular with the team and showed signs of future stardom, recording a high of 11 goals and 18 points in 37 games in 1987–88. Two years later, he moved to Spartak where he blossomed into a star. His goal totals improved every year and he scored at a point-a-game pace, leading the team in scoring in each of the three years he spent at Spartak. His success at club level later translated to success at the international level, where he figured prominently for the Unified Team that won gold at the 1992 Winter Olympics, scoring seven goals in eight games. NHL career His success at Spartak and at Albertville drew the attention of NHL scouts, who began to look more attentively at Russian hockey after the dissolution of the Soviet Union allowed for an influx of Russian hockey players to North America. The Leafs made him their third choice, 77th overall in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. He made an immediate impact upon arriving to the NHL, scoring 34 goals and netting 40 assists in 78 games for Toronto in 1992–93, including the Game 7 overtime winner for the Leafs in their division semi-final series with the Detroit Red Wings. Despite his early success, he was limited to 45 games in 1993–94 due to injuries, although he managed to record 14 goals and 35 points. During the 1994–95 NHL lockout he returned to Spartak for nine games recording six points, but his return to the Leafs once hockey resumed saw him limited to 19 games where he recorded only five points- none of them goals. Borschevsky was traded at the trade deadline that year to the Calgary Flames for a sixth-round pick, where he lasted another eight games and picked up five more points (none goals). He failed to appear in a single game in Calgary's first round playoff loss to the San Jose Sharks, leading to his departure in the offseason to the Dallas Stars. In Dallas, he managed to score for the first time in the NHL since the 1993–94 season (just once though), but injuries again curtailed his season, allowing him to dress only in 12 games until parting ways with the Stars in early December.[1] His NHL career over, Borschevsky subsequently moved to Kölner Haie of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga later in the 1995–96 season, appearing in eight games and recording four assists, before finishing his career with Spartak, winning the Russian scoring title in 1996–97 before retiring after a 27-point campaign in 1997–98

Día tranquilo para los hombres de la general. Algunas caídas que no tuvieron consecuencias graves, y un hombre que quiere entrar en la historia del tour como el máximo ganador de etapas Bienvenidos ciclofanáticos de España, Colombia, Ecuador y toda america a este breve resumen de la etapa número 10 del tour de Francia 2021. Salia como líder el monstruo esloveno Tadej Pogacar aventajando a Ben O´Connor del ag2r por 2:01 y a Rigoberto Urán por 5 minutos 18. Nairo Quintana portaba la camiseta distintiva de la montaña y Marc Cavendish encabezaba la clasificación de los puntos. Hoy la etapa partía desde la ciudad de Albertville y tendría como destino “Valence” en un trazado programado de 190 kilómetros, en el que encontrarían en los primeros 60 un puerto de cuarta categoría, y 20 más adelante un sprint especial en una de las varias cotas no categorizadas. para continuar el trayecto en un terreno semiplano que los llevaría finalmente a la línea de meta. No demoró mucho en consolidarse la fuga del dia con dos hombres que recibieron el visto bueno del lote para emprender su aventura. Fueron ellos el belga Tosh Van der Sande del lotto soudal y el canadiense Hugo Houle del Astana Premier tech. Los dos hombres tomarían una renta cercana a los cuatro minutos y serian quienes pasaron por delante en el premio de montaña en el “col de couz”, mientras que el pelotón atrás rodaba con tranquilidad guardando energías para lo que será la durísima etapa de mañana. Pocos sobresaltos entre los del lote que solo se vio afectado por un enredón de algunos hombres del BikeExchange, totalenergies y el trek, entre los que sobresale la imagen del excampeón del mundo Mads pedersen. El siguiente desafió viene con el sprint en la placette, lugar en que los dos fugados capturan las máximas unidades y dejarían un remanente para los ciclistas del pelotón. En donde Sonny Colbrelli pasa por delante y aprieta la clasificación de puntos acercándose en la tabla a Marc Cavendish. Pasada la mitad de carrera la renta de la fuga respecto al pelotón se ha recortado casi al minuto. Una nueva caída involucra a hombres del jumbo donde se van al suelo Sepp Kuss y Wout van Aert. Y también se ve envuelto Richie Porte del Ineos que recibe el apoyo de su equipo completo excepto Richard Carapaz que ha salvado el inconveniente y logra mantenerse adelante con todo el lote. Avanzan los kilómetros y Tosh Van Der Sande que venia en la fuga fue absorbido por el paquete. Hugo Houle quien se había separado de su casual compañero de fuga corrió con la misma suerte unos metros mas adelante. Con el pelotón compacto, es el Deceuninck quickstep el que toma las riendas y mete presión con Julian Alaphilippe al frente. En el último tramo entra el viento de costado y los de adelante intentan cortar el grupo. Logran hacer una pequeña selección, pero ninguno de los hombres de la general se ve afectado y el pelotón se agrupa nuevamente para afrontar los tramos finales. Llega el último kilómetro con el dominio del quickstep adelante. Davide Ballerini viene lanzando el tren del equipo y luego es relevado por Michael Mørkøv que imprime aún más potencia. Marc Cavendish pica en punta y saca una luz de ventaja, mientras Wout Van Aert y Jasper Philipssen por los costados intentan igualar la línea del británico. No les es suficiente el esfuerzo y tienen que ver como Cavendish se lleva con autoridad la etapa, sumando la tercera en este tour, y consiguiendo su victoria número 33 en el historial de la carrera quedándose a una sola del record histórico que aún posee el belga Eddy Merckx. No hay cambios en la general y se mantiene Pogacar como líder, escoltado por Ben O Connor a 2:01. Entre el tercer puesto que ocupa Rigoberto Uran a 5:18 y el séptimo de Wilco Kelderman hay solo 40 segundos de diferencia, y en esa lucha por el podio están parcialmente en ese orden; Jonas Vingegaard, Richard Carapaz, Enric Mas y el mismo Kelderman. Ya por encima de los 6 minutos están Lutsenko, Guillaume Martin y David Gaudu. Mañana vuelve la alta montaña con el doble paso por el mítico mont Ventoux. Una jornada de 200 kilómetros en el que afrontarán dos premios de cuarta categoría al inicio y otro de primera en el intermedio. La parte mas álgida comienza en la localidad de sault donde comienza el primer ascenso al mont Ventoux con 22 kilómetros al 5 por ciento. Tras el descenso llegarán el valle en “Malaucene”, y tomaran de nuevo la subida al Ventoux pero esta vez por la vertiente más difícil de “bedoin” y sus 15,7 kilómetros casi al 9 por ciento, premio fuera de categoría y que además ofrece bonificaciones en tiempo para los tres primeros.
