Aisha Sheppard could not hit her three-point attempt in the final seconds for Virginia Tech, and the time expired as the teams fought for the rebound. The game was also a contest between the two leading contenders for ACC Player of the Year, Virginia Tech's Elizabeth Kitley and NC State's Elissa Cunane. Cunnae finished the game with 22 points, two rebounds, and two steals. Kitley had 18 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks. NC State's Kaya Jones added 12 points, two rebounds, and assists.
