Newcastle United 1 Crystal Palace 2 Premier League Match Review. Bruce you are a coward!! Crystal Palace travelled to St. James' Park to take on a rejuvenated Newcastle United in this Premier League encounter. Newcastle United started the game very well and ended up going in front early on however, Crystal Palace levelled and within five minutes were in front. Newcastle United were very lacklustre in the second half, very slow build up play and didn't really threaten the Crystal Palace keeper. The main talking point was the absence of Graeme Jones in the dugout for most of the match. He made an appearance for about ten minutes then spent the rest of the match back up in the stands. For me, this was Steve Bruce making a point after all the celebration and comments about Jones following the win at Everton.
