Cal vs. Oregon Make The Same Concept Work 3 Times- Inside The Mind Of A Pac-12 Offensive Coordinator

How Quarterbacks Use The Same Concept 3 Times And Finally Get The TD! Hey everybody, welcome to Elite Athletes TV. I'm Mike Pawlawski, former eleven year Pro quarterback and quarterbacks coach here at https://www.eliteathletestv.com/ . Today, we're gonna talk about the mindset of an offensive coordinator when you have take a shot downs. Take a shot downs often occur when you cross into opponent's territory, you cross the 50 you've had some big plays, you've got some momentum going. And now you want to take a shot down the field. Well, this past weekend, there was one series where Joe Morehead used the same exact concept to take a shot on three out of four downs. And there were four downs because there was a holding penalty on first down for one of the first shots. So we have a lot of instructional, informational, educational content here at https://www.eliteathletestv.com/ . Now let's take a look at four different plays real quickly here. And I'll show you how Joe Morehead used the same exact concept from three different looks to finally put the ball in the end zone. It was the number one question that I got asked after the game this weekend as an analyst for the Bears. How did they get so open? I'm going to show you that right now. You can see how Joe Morehead used the same exact scissors concept on three different plays to try to take that shot down the field. On first down, it makes total sense, because it's a shot down, just crossed into opponent's territory, the drive is going you're kind of rolling a little bit. And so you take that shot down the field, they complete it, but they get the holding penalty. So becomes first and 20 Well, he figures he'll take that shot again, only they missed the throw. And so missing that throw puts them behind schedule big time now because it becomes second. When he tries to get something back on the screen they only get three yards. So we have to take a shot on third down. In that case, he caught the right coverage. He got a defender out of position and his quarterback made the throw and so that's how play calling evolves. And you can use one concept to attack a team three different ways. If you liked what I did here today if you love football content you love X's and O's. Make sure you subscribe to the channel.
