Crewe Hall is a Jacobean mansion located near Crewe Green, east of Crewe, in Cheshire, England. Described by Nikolaus Pevsner as one of the two finest Jacobean houses in Cheshire, it is listed at grade I. Built in 1615–36 for Sir Randolph Crewe, it was one of the county's largest houses in the 17th century, and was said to have "brought London into Cheshire".The hall was extended in the late 18th century and altered by Edward Blore in the early Victorian era.

Shrewsbury School is a public school in Shrewsbury. Founded in 1552 by Edward VI by Royal Charter, it is one of the seven public schools subject to the Public Schools Act 1868, and one of the nine prestigious schools investigated by the Clarendon Commission between 1861 and 1864.It was originally a boarding school for boys; girls have been admitted into the Sixth Form since 2008 and the school has been co-educational since 2015.
