Asiago is the name of both a major Italian Protected Designation of Origin (PDO,) as well as a cheese, and a minor township (population roughly 6,500) in the surrounding plateau region (the Altopiano di Asiago or Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, Asiago plateau) in the Province of Vicenza in the Veneto region of Northeastern Italy.
