Fotbal Club CFR 1907 Cluj, commonly known as CFR Cluj , is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, which competes in the Liga I. It was founded in 1907 as Kolozsvári Vasutas Sport Club, when Transylvania was part of Austria-Hungary, and the current name CFR is the acronym for Căile Ferate Române (i.e. "Romanian Railways").

The first ever involvement of the club in an official UEFA European competition dates back to 2005, more specifically to that season's UEFA Intertoto Cup in which CFR Cluj (then known as CFR Ecomax Cluj) finished as runners-up, losing to French side RC Lens (one of the joint winners alongside Olympique de Marseille and Hamburger SV) 4–2 (aggregate) in the finale.

History of A.S. Roma

The history of Associazione Sportiva Roma begins with its founding on 7 June 1927 by Italo Foschi, who initiated the merger of three older Italian Football Championship clubs from the city of Rome; Roman, Alba-Audace and Fortitudo. Italo Foschi was a Roman representative of the National Fascist Party and the Secretary of the Roman Fascist Federation.The purpose of the merger was to give the Eternal City a strong club to rival that of the more dominant Northern Italian clubs of the time.

2007–08 A.S. Roma season

During the 2007–08 season Associazione Sportiva Roma played the 75th Serie A season in its history. As in the previous season, Roma finished in second place in Serie A behind Internazionale, but had the chance to win the Championship until the last match.

2006–07 A.S. Roma season

During the 2006–07 football season, Associazione Sportiva Roma played its 74th Serie A league season, finishing 2nd. The club also competed in the UEFA Champions League, finishing as quarter-finalists, and the Coppa Italia, winning the trophy for the eighth time.

The 2008–09 season was Associazione Sportiva Roma's 76th season in Serie A. The club competed in four competitions; domestically, Roma finished a disappointing 6th, after three consecutive second-place finishes. They began the season by losing the Supercoppa Italiana to Inter, who also eliminated Roma in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.
