Atalanta verrast topfavoriet Liverpool in de kwartfinale van de Europa Leauge
De topfavoriet is ferm van zijn sokkel getuimeld. Wie de Europa League wil winnen, moet Liverpool verslaan. En die opdracht had Atalanta duidelijk begrepen. De Italiaanse ploeg van Charles De Ketelaere bestormde Anfield met uitgekookte counters en zette Liverpool zo ferm met de voeten op de grond: 0-3. Jurgen Klopp heeft een mirakel nodig in Bergamo om zijn Europese droom nog eens waar te maken. Wat een ferme ontnuchtering voor Liverpool, dat in de last dance van Jürgen Klopp op trofeejacht is. Maar na amper een minuut spelen zouden de Engelsen al ferm met de neus op de feiten gedrukt worden tegen Atalanta. En dat mag je gerust zeer letterlijk nemen: Pasalic trapte de eerste counter van de uitgekookte Italianen pal op de snoet van Liverpool-doelman Kelleher. Een voorsprong had de ploeg van Charles De Ketelaere (nog) niet te pakken, maar het zou wel een symbolische voorbode betekenen voor wat er nog komen zou. Hoewel Liverpool - dat niet met een B-elftal speelde, maar wel enkele spilfiguren liet rusten - de wedstrijd controleerde en zelfs even ging driebanden met het doelhout, was het Atalanta dat verraste met enkele flitsen. Eerst hakte De Ketelaere zijn ploegmakker Koopmeiners nog knap vrij, maar die besloot op de handen van doelman Kelleher. Maar niet veel later was het wel prijs voor de Italianen. Na een van de vele tegenaanvallen over rechts drukte Scamacca de 0-1 net voor de rust binnen. Het werd muisstil op Anfield. Een bevreemdende stilte die op het uur nog eens over het veld zou vallen. De Ketelaere verzilverde zijn verdienstelijke pot en schilderde de dubbele voorsprong héérlijk op de voet van Atalanta-held Scamacca. En tot overmaat van ramp voor Klopp - die stond erbij en keek ernaar - suste Pasalic het slotoffensief van de Engelsen in de rebound: 0-3. De kans dat Klopp zijn afscheid met een Europese titel mag vieren, is plots zeer klein.

Je li njegov nekadašnji sukomentator Velimir Zajec prava osoba na mjestu predsjednika Dinama?Zašto je kao jedan od rijetkih branio kolegu Edu Pezzija od teških optužbi i kako vidi smjer u kojem idu hrvatski nogomet i sport općenito, ali i hrvatsko novinarstvo?
