The Baia Mare Champions Trophy was a one-off pre-season international women's team handball tournament for clubs, held in Baia Mare, Romania. The competition was hosted by Liga Naţională club HCM Baia Mare and governed by the rules and regulations of the IHF. It was contested by six teams.

Oțelul II Galați was a Romanian professional football club from Galaţi, Galați County, Romania, founded in 2007. It activated as the reserve team of Oţelul Galaţi, a club playing in the top division of Romanian football in that period, Liga I. The team disbanded in early 2015 due to insufficient funding.

CSM Reșița

Clubul Sportiv Muncitoresc Reșița , commonly known as CSM Reșița or simply as Reșița, is a Romanian football club based in Reșița, Caraș-Severin County, currently playing in the Liga II. The club was founded on 25 May 1926 as UD (Uzinele și Domeniile) Reșița and throughout its almost centennial history survived to many sharp ups and downs, from a national title in 1931 and a silver medal in 1932 to the last shine in the late 1990s, several reorganizations in the 2000s and an almost fatal fall at the level of amateur leagues during the 2010s. Over time CSM had important battles with local rivals as Muncitorul Reșița or Gloria Reșița, but has secured itself the city's supremacy, as well as the title of county's most important and supported club.

ASC Oțelul Galați

Asociația Suporter Club Oțelul Galați , commonly known as Oțelul Galați, or simply as Oțelul, is a Romanian football club based in the city of Galați, Galați County, currently playing in the Liga III. Founded in 1964 as the team of the Galați steel works, Oțelul spent the first two decades of their history in the lower leagues. They reached the Liga I for the first time in 1986 and have spent a total of twenty-seven seasons playing in the top flight, while also securing several seasons of European football.

Baia Mare

Baia Mare ; Hungarian: Nagybánya; German: Frauenbach or Groß-Neustadt; Ukrainian: Бая-Маре; Latin: Rivulus Dominarum; Yiddish: באניע‎, romanized: Banya) is a municipality along the Săsar River, in northwestern Romania; it is the capital of Maramureș County. The city is situated about 600 kilometres (373 miles) from Bucharest, 70 km (43 mi) from the border with Hungary, and 50 km (31 mi) from the border with Ukraine.

Baia Mare Metropolitan Area is located in northwestern Romania and consists of Baia Mare City (Maramureș county seat) and localities found within a distance of 35 km. For the 2014-2020 time period, Baia Mare Metropolitan Area is stated to be an important instrument for accessing EU structural funds, which will enable the implementation of local infrastructure investment projects, thereby increasing quality of life and reducing disparities between localities.

Baia Mare ghetto

The Baia Mare ghetto was one of the Nazi-era ghettos for European Jews during World War II. It was located in the city of Baia Mare in Maramureș County, Transylvania, now part of Romania but administered as part of Szatmár County by the Kingdom of Hungary from the 1940 Second Vienna Award's grant of Northern Transylvania until late 1944. It was active in the spring of 1944, following Operation Margarethe.
