Ungmennafélagið Víkingur, also known as Víkingur Ólafsvík , is an Icelandic football club from the town of Ólafsvík located on the west coast of Iceland situated on the western end of the Snæfellsnes. They played in the Úrvalsdeild, the Icelandic top tier, for the first time in 2013.
Völsung
In Norse mythology, Völsung was the son of Rerir and the eponymous ancestor of the ill-fortuned Völsung clan (Vǫlsungar), which includes the well known Norse hero Sigurð. He was murdered by the Geatish king Siggeir and later avenged by one of his sons, Sigmund, and his daughter Signy, who was married to Siggeir.
Ólafsvík
Ólafsvík is a small town in Iceland on the northern side of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. At one point in the 17th and 18th centuries, commercial vessels sailed between Ólafsvík and Denmark, and the village was one of the larger trading ports in Iceland.
